The trouble with SLRR was that it was a huge departure from anything Social D did before. While I liked it, it still had far too much of a pop feel for my tastes. I'm hoping that the next one they put out will be to SLRR what WLWHWT was to Somewhere Between Heaven and hell... a return to their roots without being repetitive.

Sl&rnr sounds like a digital recording, peak
loudness level.. yea too much pop than r'n'r

There was this guitar magazine interview, WHWLWT was recorded entirely analog without digital guitar effects.

To bad we just cant motivate Mike to work at a faster pace. I'd kill for an album every 3 years. This waitin four and five years bullshit sucks..
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I agree. The 4-5 year wait really does suck, but I'm sure Social D has just been taking their time writing their new album for the last few years before they could even record it.

so i've been thinking about it a bit. When i spoke with brent harding that night, that was before the mike ness band winter tour was announced. it's possible that brent didn't know about it, and that the tour could have come up from the success of the spring/ summer gigs. so if brent said he'd record in the winter and there's a line of shows on the calendar with more shows popping up every now and then.

given the tour, if they stop playing before the new year, my prediction is a spring recording, with 1-2 summer shows to test out new material, and the typical HoB winter tour promoting a new album.

Social D is:
Mike Ness
Brent Harding
Charlie Quintana
Jonny Wickersham
Danny McGough

MN Band is:
Mike Ness
Brent Harding
Jonny Wickersham
Dave Raven
Chris Laurence

so, swap out a drummer and pedal steel guitarist for a different drummer and a keyboardist, and it's essentially the same line-up. however, based on my conversation with Brent Harding, I was referring to Social D.

hey guys, keep in mind--it was 1 conversation. i am in no way an authority. just a fan with some educated guess work.
