I like to listen to both kinds of music, country AND western......

Both are excellent points. (What a great topic!)
I have a question following Les Paul Players post. What is the most "punk" song y'all think Social D has ever done?
" alot of people don't think this is a very hardcore song but it is about real life and that's about as hardcore as it gets!"
so maybe Ball & Chain is just as punk as Mass Hysteria !!
interesting topic all round. We don't get exposed to much new country over here so I can't really comment on that part of it.

I used to be into a little modern country...but it didn't last long. It got to corny for me. With people like Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, and some others i can't think of their name. When country starts putting reggae into their music and every song says something like "a drink in my hand and my feet in the sand" thats when im out.
Ive always been under the impression that most modern country artist dont actually write their own songs. Why do you see 2 different artist nominated for the same song sometimes?
And George Strait, although I like most of his stuff whenever i see a live performance of his he just stands there with the guitar...HE NEVER PLAYS THE DAMN THING!!!
Move 'em on, head 'em up,
Head 'em up, move 'em out,
Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!
Set 'em out, ride 'em in
Ride 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in Rawhide.

Hey, I was way drunk last time I posted! What I was trying to say was I think it is very cool to listen to all music and like the music that relates to you. I'm all about talking to people about the music that relates to you. I don't always agree but it's cool to know what others are listening to. I think you are cool Wolfpits, doesn't matter if we agree on everything, and actually it's the differences that make life interesting.
Hank III put it down pretty damn right:
"I'm here to put the dick in Dixie
and the cunt back in country
'Cuz the kind of country I hear nowadays
is a bunch of fuckin' shit to me
And they say that I'm ill-mannered
that I'm gonna self-destruct
But if you know what I'm thinking
you'll know that pop-country really sucks!"
I've really been getting into George Michaels and Hall & Oates lately....
