Opening night....Social D....House of Blues baby!

Just got back home. Out of the 50+ times I have seen them play tonight was one of the best shows. They opened the night with the entire Mommies Little Monster CD end to end. If that wasnt enough, they Took a short break, then came back and played (in no particular order):

when the angels sing

reach for the sky

king of fools

ball and chain

Mike was in a good mood and the sound was just about as perfect as you can get. Im going to 4 more shows in the next few weeks and I hope they were as unique as tonight.

it really surprised me when they started playing the whole MLM. it didnt dawn on me what they were doing until after about the 4th song because the creeps and MLM are pretty much on every setlist anyways. I was thinking to myself what about anti fashion and moral threat, and sure enough, they played them. Then they took a break for about a minute and they came back on. What was priceless was seeing some of the faces in the crowd of complete cluelessness who had never heard many of these songs before. For me, it was the first time ever hearing them play anti fashion, moral threat, this time darlin, bye bye baby live.

I'm so jealous! As much as a love how the Socal D sound has grown over the years, there is always something special about a bands first album, and MLM has so many great songs. This begs the question what other album would you like to hear them play start to finish? For me I would say Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, with Social Distortion a close second.

hearing any album in full would be killer but i love top hear Prison Bound end to end. Hearing some the old unreleased stuff - Behind CLosed Doors, Social Distoriton, Punk Skunk/Barfly etc -would be interesting as well.
