Bakersfield sounded a lot like a cover. Its country/bluesy slow love song. It is more like one of the songs off his solo albums.

The chorus is basically "Come meet me in bakersfield." There's also some lines about "towing a heavy load." Its basically a love song about a guy stuck in bakersfield and wanting his girlfired to come visit him.

Wow, I can't believe they played This Time Darlin'. That's probably my favorite Social D song...maybe someday.

Yeah, they played This Time Darlin. I couldnt believe it also. It sure sounded like they havent rehearsed it that much. Charlie was off a few times and Mike even looked back at him once or twice with a chuckle. I was laughing because it reminds me of our band when we play a new song live for the first time. We all end up looking at each other at least once with a kinda "what da fuck is that?" look on our faces. I think Mike was anxious to get that song over with.

its all kinda blury now but I remember it was kinda slow and bluesy with a country feel. My first thought when he started playing it was it had a "Footprints" kinda vibe and tempo to it. the last verse stood out because it was all spoken like he was telling a story.
