yeah I like Steve Earle. Lately he's been on the Hbo series the wire. it took me a minute to recognize him. he covered Way down in the hole by Tom Waits for the intro music.

I started listening to him because SofC told me he was good.

I like the Revolution album and the early stuff like Guitar Town and Copperhead Road. He is definately a good songwriter, but I find myself thinking about how his songs would sound if recorded by Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty or Bob Dylan.

I'm about to go see him acoustic at a historic honk tonk called Floore's Country Store in May!

i also highly suggest Levon Helm's new album, "Dirt Farmer". If you're into the old-timey sound, it's good stuff

Steve Earle is here tonight and tomorrow. Is the whole tour acoustic or just the show Glenn is going to? I not going anyway, but an all acoustic set sounds a little well, dull. (Sorry!) I need loud guitars. If I go out to night I might go to Ace Frehley.

it's all acoustic. a few years ago he was with a band called the bluegrass dukes, but since has mainly done solo acoustic shows since he's begun touring again. i've seen him a few times now, at bonnaroo, south paw in brooklyn and the blue note in the east village and if there is anything that a steve earle show is not, it's dull

I was just trying to spice up the board a bit. I'm sure the Steve Earle show will be great, I'm just weird. It's not so much the acoustic part that turns me off as that it is a seated show. I can't see myself sitting in my assigned seat all night.
