Thanx for sharing! I think it sounds good!
Hey guys. I ran across this while cruising youtube today. Thought it was worth sharing. If the acoustic album sounds like this I'll be the first in line!
YouTube - Social Distortion - Telling Them Acoustic
Thanx for sharing! I think it sounds good!
this is killer! same show where the "cold feelings" acoustic version came from, right?
since the youtube user is the same, I reckon this is also where Ness and his wife were filmed dancing in the strobe light and while leaving the function.
so we tell him off on one hand for violating privacy issues and on the other hand we praise him for providing some real gems in social d.'s musical development and a possible outlook to the future acoustic album.
what a brilliant idiot, haha!
WOW! That is so amazing!!! That's all I can say...
Sorry guys, this one doesn't work for me. Its just not an acoustic song.
I bet this is the direction Mike is going, at least thats the feeling I get. An acoustic album then a tour to support it. At least they will be back on the road soon
of all the MLM songs i think "Hour of Darkness" would be most interesting played in this form.
I prefer this one:
YouTube - Social Distortion - Reach For The Sky Acoustic

I also think a live format would be much more appealing than a studio acoustic album. Like MTV unplugged or VH1 story tellers. I know a few others have made this suggestion as well. One of my favorite recordings is the unplugged bootleg from Sickboys site, most of the recordings are live. Thats the way to go if you ask me.
The next record should be a double album, part new Social D. material the other half acoutic versions of older Social Distortion songs... What do ya'll think?
I don't particularly like the re-packaging of the old stuff in an acoustic format, but I must say "Telling Them" blew me away.
"Reach for the Sky", not so much.
