    my mom is right there on the nw side of the 57 fwy. being in colorado right now sucks, mainly because i can do nothing for her. she is handy-(capped)stubborn as all hell.

    fire was about 1 mile from my place. had some friends evacuated. i was out of town on business and missed it. drove through some of the areas, and it wasn't as bad as i anticipated it. the fires burned a lot of the trail systems where i've been running for the past 9 years. my house is ok though.

    hotrodder how long have you lived in brea?
    i grew up there central/tamarack area.

    I was evucated the fire was right next to the hills by my house but we were lucky are house is stil standing.

    I live in Corona and with the freeways closed it took 4 1/2 hrs to get to Knotts on Saturday. Had my mom calling me giving me updates as to where the fire was going because it was a few miles from my apartment.

    i still consider brea home,no matter how differant it now appears.
    i'm glad that i had the oppertunity to live on(the) ponderosa. the oil fields to run rampant, brea/tonner canyon(s),the boy scount ranch,gun club,that was host to many a party...
