I was wondering as to what kinda equipment mike uses. Like what kind of marshall amps does he play? Is that a 56 gibson goldtop that he plays? What kind of pedals does he use?(distortion and such)

if anyone could help that would be sweet.

    thanks,
    lenny

gotxyourxcancer is the authority on this. here is how he replied to a previous inquiry regarding Mike's gear back in April:

"2 Fender Bassman 100 watt heads (theyre specially modified)
    2 Marshall AX cabinets
BOSS OD-3 Overdrive pedal (gain knob all the way down)
2 Gibson Les Paul Deluxes w/ P-90 pickups (1 guitar w/ standard P90s, the other with Seymour Duncans)"

I agree--it is a Deluxe with P-90-s instead of mini-humbuckers. You can even see the truss rod cover that says Deluxe in a couple of the pictures on SxDx.com.

    Mike's Goldtops..yes multiples.ALL LES PAUL DELUXES
they ALL say Orange County and have the Clay Smith Cams "Mr.Horsepower" sticker
the goldtops are all mid 70s Norlin Era Pancake body deluxes.
His other 2 deluxes (71 and 75 Sunbursts) have different markings. one, I believe the 71 has been blank although i think its gotten the "13" sticker treatment. the other burst is more pronounced in color and rocks a Rat Fink sticker.
ALL have the toggle switch taped down in the Treble position

The heads are modded 67 Blackface Fender Bassmen. The bassman stock has a bass channel and a guitar channel and is 50w. the newest one is modded by Divided by 13 amplification and no one really knows whats been done in the way of mods .
The more Famous Bassman is modded by Billy Zoom and as i recall i think the mod is that the bass channel imput has been turned into a guitar channel for more tube saturation/overdrive at lower volumes so he dosent have to crank all 50w to the max to get it to break up and distort.

the Marshall cab is a 4X10 mic'd at the right hand corner so he can play at those lower volumes through the house sound

mike rocks one pedal. it is the Boss SD-1 SUPER OD.

The deluxes have Seymour Duncan P90s. they were "custom wound" now are released to the general public as the SP90-2 they are scatter wound, super hot and have a 10k output.

stings are Skinny top Heavy Bottom ernie ball 2215 set. theyre the ones in the red orange packs.

i have a goldtop deluxe wired and set up to all mikes specs...it sounds just like you think it would

i stalked ebay til i found a GT Deluxe with some loved player wear that was ending late at night (this is where you score deals, when theres not competition) got it for $1200 which was a steal. bought the pickups and cream covers used. the guitar had the bridge and the tuners replaced with funky stuff so i bought some used stock parts dirt cheap and hocked everything i took off of it and replaced to recoop what i spent. all in all i NAILED mikes GT for an end all be all $1100 after i sold off the pickups and stuff i didnt want anymore. Thats cheaper than you can buy a much lower quality les paul righ for by far. dont give up on having this setup because its incredible!
