Never Mind The Buzzcocks !!!

The Gift Help Charity Music Festival out of a Jam

Best Unsigned Bands in Britain get shown the way by one of the best:

Chilton Music Festival, with all of its proceeds to the British Heart Foundation, will happen on Sat 2nd Sep thanks to the ?Gift?.

The festival was always going to have a laid back non commercial vibe, after some advice from Glastonbury ?s founder Mr Michael Eavis.

?We wanted to get the very best unsigned bands in the country, along with some of the excellent talent in South Central Britain and top it all off with an experienced and influential band, that everybody knows and loves?, said festival organisers. ?When the Buzzcocks offered their services FoC we were delighted?. However travel logistics between European festivals and essential promotional work for their new album ?Flat Pack Philosophy? meant that they had to pull out of this year?s proceedings ?

But all was not lost and at the 11th hour Rick Buckler Esq, drummer of the legendary and influential The Jam, confirmed his involvement:

Rick?s new band the Gift, playing a full set of classics from The Jam, (?Going Underground?, ?Down in the tube station at Midnight?, ?That?s Entertainment? and ?Eaton Riffles? to name but a few) will be there to head up a great lineup of acts, also including former Boo-Radleys? front-man Sice, with his latest music outfit Paperlung, as championed by Ms Janice Long on BBC Radio Two; adding to this the very Best Unsigned Bands in Britain, as discovered via new online phenomenon WWW.TOURDATES.CO.UK and a healthy inclusion of local talent, Chilton Music Festival is shaping up to be a fantastic inaugural event and looks set to become one of the more special gigs on the British Summer Music calendar.

Organisers have thrown in all the usual festival fayre, with bucking broncos, kids? activities, jewelry and clothes stalls, and bouncy castles galore, available during the day to keep the family happy:

Tickets are priced at ?7.50 for the evening music sessions or just ?5.00 if you get in before 6pm.

Festival site opens for family fun at 12 noon, music starts at 2pm and goes on until late.

Best local band on the day will also be playing an exclusive After Show Party.

Tourdates.Co.UK has been invited to help start a New Music Festival near Oxford

With some advice from the legendary Michael ( Glastonbury ) Eavis it was decided to get the ball rolling with a one day charity event this year on Sat 2nd Sep benefiting the British Heart Foundation

?Michael was struck by the irony that he?d just received and award from a Music Managers Group, most of whom had not returned his phone calls for the first 10 years of the now legendary Glastonbury Music Festival?, said Dean G Hill of Tourdates.Co.UK. ?Fortunately with the website behind us and our industry contacts we started above ground level on this one. But we still need all the help we can get to make it a raging success.? Chilton fest are looking for an army of Bands/Helpers/Punters to come and enjoy the first year of what is likely to build into one of the more special events in the UK Summer Music calendar. e-mail: [email protected] for more info.

?Festivals seem to be cropping up all over the place this year. We figured what the hell, there should be no limit on the opportunities for the Great British Music-lover to come out and enjoy themselves. There?s the Truckfest in South Oxfordshire and any festival worth its salt has a north and a south event so north Oxfordshire works for us, we may even swap some acts?. In keeping with the down to earth, early Glastonbury, vibe of this new festival the main stage will feature Featuring the very best unsigned music in the UK + Rick (The Jam) Buckler?s The Gift?
