I've just watched Internacianal Festival de Jazz de Montreal or so it goes.Jaco Pastorius, the late bass virtuoso, is awesome. He was ahead of his time. he was a real big influence not just to bassists but also to all kinds of musicians. ok so maybe Wooten of Miller is better compared to what Jaco does at his time...but with out Jaco what do you think will have happened to todays bass playing techniques?Would the bass be still hidden in the dark shadow of the rythm section?
(btw, i heard a new song called "All my Friends are Dead". dunno who the artist is.it is not that technical but it sure is cool if you're into punk rock. If someone here knows the song, pls tell me who the artist is.thanks)
