Yes, the "not a name show" boogieman strikes again. Because even though it won accolades and had a great Broadway run, our average patron at WDI(beyond those of us who are genuine theater folk)wouldn't know the Tony Awards if they fell over them.
You make a great suggestion, though. I like to go see the same play done by different houses-everyone has a different take on it.

I just posted the following message on the Wheaton Drama Facebook group :

One of the bugaboos about doing City of Angels is that it's supposedly Not A Name. It won six Tonys, including best musical, best book & best score. You can hear all the music by going here: http://www.bozolisand.com/cityofangels.

Now, another theatre in the area is doing the show. Auditions are coming up shortly. Go here: http://www.tothbolingbrook.com. This is a terrific opportunity to see what we're getting into. Theatre-on-the-Hill is NOT in competition with us -- they're twenty miles away, they have a completely different audience. But if you go audition for it, or volunteer to work backstage, you can find out all the joys and pitfalls of the show before WDI gets anywhere near it.

Or you can just go see it in Bolingbrook and find out what a terrific choice for WDI it is.

    Craig
