First Street Playhouse's Fiore stage is the perfect venue for Soapbox Theatre's inaugural production, "Movin' Right Along."

The production offers a variety of sketches and musical numbers, many very well-executed. The cast features Nicole Warren, Christine Wortham, Carol Townsend, Dennis Stewart, Julie Bayer, & Charlie Rucker with a guest appearance by Nancy Kolton. It is directed by Craig Gustafson.

Revue shows are difficult to measure, but this show was upbeat and well-paced. Nicole Warren and Julie Bayer give stand out performances, meeting the challenges of creating numerous different characters for the variety of sketches they must present on stage. Julie Bayer's voice is simply stunning.

Some of the sketches in the show were provided by Marjorie Gustafson - a smart move! Marjorie's sketches are smart, fast-paced, and expertly comic.

    Thank you!

But -- truth in advertising: I directed half the show. I directed the sketches and Nancy Kolton directed the songs.

When a show moves me to endless convulsions of laughter, it's a good show. When I'm laughing so hard that a castmember asks FROM THE STAGE if I'm OK, it's a GREAT show!

    Go see it!
