Exfoliation
The water burns my face,
burns my shoulders
but doesn't burn you off of me?
can't force you out of me.
My image reflected
in your eyes blazes?
your pupils dilate. My reflection
recoils and the wall presses
into my back. Its coolness
offers me no retreat.
The harder I scrub
the more you stick to me?
crawl under my skin,
deeper than a third degree burn,
burrow where I can't reach?
where the water will
never be able to reach you.
(The second stanza is supposed to be in italics.)

I really like this one.
It makes me think of Crazy A (who's stuff I REALLY like because it's just real, and you 'feel' it)
I don't know if Crazy is still around, or if he even visits the board anymore... but I'd like to hear his input on this one..
Although it reminds me of his works... it's much more 'mystical' in the fact that it leaves much of the imagining up to the reader... where as Crazy A's are much more descriptive providing pictures instead of letting the reader imagine.
But this is powerful, much like his works.
Good stuff!
