A writing group....???

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am looking for insight. I, along with one of my friends, are approaching the college here at ISU to start a sponsored writing group. You know, like a meeting once a week and possibly a year end publication. Talks are in the air right now...but what I am asking is for you people to help me think of a good name for our group. I kind of want to give it a "beats generation" feel.

The Feels

actually some of these are names i thought would be good for bands and while throwing them out i actually forgot what they are for...but then i read below and remembered ...but oh well.

ok...i don't know what you're really looking for here...are you looking for names for a group or names for a school organization.. cause if its a school organization...w/ open memebership...i think the name should definately represent what the organization stands for.... i think names which seem to look like band names...like many of my suggestiongs--well.. i think none of these would work. a name needs to very solid and not something you're gonna wanna' change in a few months or a year. a solid name can represent a solid organization. so i think few or none of my suggestions would work. i just threw them out for the fun of it. yours may work if that's what you're going for but the only one i would choose would be "Awe"...and i don't know why cause i think it sounds weird. but its still alright. i don't know... i think "Awe" would be good and bad but could end up being really good. if you didn't notice when i was writing my list of names i put "tongue" just above "pen and cheek" as a joke because the actual phrase is "tongue and cheek"... i really don't know what it means but i do think "tongue and cheek" would be a good name.
i hope you disagree with any or all of this cause its really all up to you and what i write here doesn't matter that much and probably won't influence anything.
hope i was of some help or no help or at least interesting to read. haha...anyway...
our poetry club down here is called "KIMET"...as if anyone would care. i don't know what it means and i don't care. but it means something... and that's a start.

Well, of your 3 suggestions for a group of people, I pick The New Rants. I kinda like The Feels, but that sounds like "eels" and that's all I can picture.

AWE would be good for a publication. So would NEW RANTS or NEW RANT. But then that begs the question: is it new? Or are they the same rants from 40 years ago?

well actually, the feels and the new rants stemed from the beats and beatniks........i am really into ginsberg and burroughs right now......so.......i wanted to show my so called appreciation for their work, but still be somewhat original........

You got any other ideas?
