Entranced by sapphires
that danced upon her skin,
I came to her.
Winter's kiss caressed
my naked cheeks,
left my lips chapped
and aching for hers.
Her supple azure lips
that taste like death,
taste like salvation.
As her icy arms wrap me
in a hypothermic embrace
I sacrifice my warmth
to the winter sky.
I forsake the light
for 'the dark prison of the earth.'
This is a contest poem in repsonse to another poet's poem on allpoetry. It's kinda dark, but the other poem really sparked something when I read it, so here it is.

I like it.
It's dark, but it's content is very beautiful. The images you give seem dark.. I imagine dark things.. but you make the dark seem somehow elegant and wonderful.
I REALLY like this one... although it's different from your usual writings, which a lot of what you've been doing is different, and that's cool....
I like it.
The more I read it - the less I see it as dark, the more I see it as just enticing.
I could've read more and more and more of that stuff... but what you wrote was full. Maybe that's why it's good too, it wasn't too much of a good thing - just enough to go "ahhh, that was awesome"
Nice work.
