    Mellon is currently searching for a senior level HR Business Partner to support the Mellon Employee Benefits Solutions (MEBS) business unit.

    MEBS was formed in 2001 when Mellon Financial Corporation combined its two sister divisions (Dreyfus Retirement Services and Buck Consultants? Administrative Services Group) into a unified division dedicated to providing fully integrated, comprehensive employee benefit plan services. These services include total employee benefits outsourcing, defined contribution administration, defined benefit administration, trustee and custodial services, investment management and consulting, health and welfare administration, compliance testing and advice, and online plan sponsor access. In November 2001, MEBS announced the acquisition of Unifi Network, a division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

    Based in New Jersey, and reporting to Mellon?s Senior Vice President and Manager of HR Business Partners and working in conjunction with the MEBS Leadership team, the incumbent will play a key role in the management of MEBS human resources activities.

    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
     Ensure successful organizational and cultural human resources integration of recent and future acquisitions as related to MEBS? business growth.
     Develop strategic human resources solutions to various organizational issues and present business case to senior management while having the tactical ability to implement the solution.
     Provide consultative advice and maintain clear communications and working relationships with senior management for the purposes of identifying and resolving human resource needs in the areas of staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development related to MEBS business strategy.
     Execute HR strategies in support of enterprise-wide initiatives related to Mellon?s leadership priority to become the Employer of Choice.
     Interpret, develop and implement HR policies and practices balancing legal and statutory requirements combined with business unit goals and objectives.
     Utilize Mellon HR?s Centers of Excellence (Strategic Staffing, Compensation and Benefits, Corporate Employee Relations, Organizational Effectiveness, Communications and Employee Research) to ensure the product specialists are providing human resources services in an effective and efficient manner.
     Provide management, leadership, support and development to a staff of HR professionals consistent with the overall objectives of the HR Department.

    The successful candidate must possess:
     A minimum of ten years of progressive human resources experience with exposure to at least two centers of excellence such as recruiting, compensation, organization development or benefits.
     Strong employee relations experience with the proven knowledge of all related employment laws.
     Significant experience in conducting due diligence as it relates to human resources during an acquisition process.
     The proven ability to work as a strategic partner with a senior management team.
     Strong project management skills, with proven experience of managing cultural change in a growing organization and industry.
     The ability to work effectively with various levels of employees up to and including senior managers is essential to this position.
     Superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills.
     Bachelors Degree required, Masters preferred, in relevant field of study.
     Managing an HR staff of approximately 20 individuals.
     Ability to travel 40% to other MEBS locations.
