POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Manager of Training and Development

LOCATION: Willow Grove, PA

DESCRIPTION: Our client, a privately owned international services company, is seeking a Manager of Training and Development. This training and development professional will manage the company’s supervisory training program at company headquarters, as well as in the field as necessary. Develop and conduct leadership training for General Foreman and Supervisor level employees. Work closely with all levels of field management to determine and assess training and development needs. Recruit and source employees for field management, which includes screening, interviewing, testing, and hiring for exempt-level positions. Identify high potential employees for management development programs and promotions and track these individuals’ progress. Maintain a pool of candidates to fill positions that arise.

Will be responsible for EEOC and affirmative action compliance, which involves reporting and investigating issues that arise in these areas. Serve as a key resource for field management in HR areas such as discipline, termination, employee issues, FMLA, and motivation. Assist Field Managers in maintaining a professional work force which includes plans for turnover reduction, work rule implementation, communication between supervisors and employees, and market surveys for salary and benefits. Manage a staff of 2 administrative personnel. This position will report to the Manager of Corporate Administration and will work closely with VP’s and Region Managers.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years prior Human Resources experience in a manufacturing or service business with an emphasis on training and development. Must have experience designing and executing supervisory and management training programs as well as identification and recruiting of internal management candidates. A college degree is desirable. This position involves extensive travel throughout the organization, and as such, a minimum of 60% overnight travel should be expected.

COMPENSATION: Our client offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary between $75K and $85K plus substantial bonus and incentive opportunities.
