Position: Specialty Team Member-Part Time
Location: OR - Portland (PRT)
Starting date: 04/05/04
Will do: General Summary: Performs in the Specialty Department all of the
following tasks: counter service, sanitation and stocking of Specialty and
Housewares products. Maintains a positive company image by providing
courteous, friendly and effective customer service. Supports Team, Store, and
Regional Leadership in maintaining Whole Foods Market Quality Standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: -Provide excellent customer service
-Comply with all applicable State of Oregon and Whole Foods Market Health,
Safety and Sanitation policies and procedures -Cut, wrap and slice cheese
-Perform all duties of a cashier as needed -Understand and follow policy
established by Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) regarding sale and
service of alcoholic beverages (must be 18 years of age or older) -Stock
Specialty items maintaining Quality Standards and proper rotation -Stock and
maintain supplies, paper products, and utensils -Properly record waste and
spoilage -Operate and sanitize equipment following all applicable safety and
sanitation procedures -Follow established weights and measures procedures
(tares) -Perform all other duties as assigned
Must have/be: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: -Entry level
position; some Specialty experience preferred -Passion and appreciation for
good food -Ability to properly and safely use knives -Valid Oregon Food
Handler's Card -Some knowledge of cheese, wine, beer, specialty foods and
housewares -Ability to operate meat slicer, trash compactor, baler, and all
other equipment and machinery as necessary (must be 18 years of ag or older)
-Ability to clearly communicate -Understanding of Whole Foods Market Quality
Standards and the ability to communicate them to Team Members and customers
-Ability to work well as a member of a Team -Ability to perform physical
requirements of the position Working Conditions: -Standing and walking for
extended periods of time, up to 8-10 hours -Bending and lifting not to exceed
50 pounds unassisted -Use FDA approved cleaning solutions in cleaning process
-Repetitive hand and arm movement
