TITLE: ADMISSIONS CLERK -80%

REPORTS TO: Nurse Supervisor

SALARY: $10.67 Per Hour

SHIFT: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and
Sunday 7:30 am to

4:30 pm or 7:45 am to 4:45
pm. (Days to work may vary

depending on
need)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

1. Maintain client confidentiality in all matters.

2. Prepare admission packets for sub-acute admissions and
route appropriately.

3. Interview clients while on-line with computer to enter CPMS
and billing/insurance/payment data.

4. Maintain an accounts receivable record on the computer.

5. Complete CPMS enrollment/termination data.

6. Assist in maintaining an accurate case numbering system.

7. Assist with telephone and lobby reception as needed.

8. Assist in maintenance of Hooper client tracking system.

9. Participate in in-service training.

10. Maintain a clean and orderly lobby area.

11. Follow Front Desk Work Rules as directed.

12. Assist in training on-call Admit Clerks as needed.

13. Assist in the admit process by escorting the clients to the
shower room and having clients change their clothes and shower,
searching clients' clothes and taking clients upstairs to subacute
detox floor and orienting them to the floor.

14. Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to type 35 words per minute (WPM).

2. Interviewing skills/good ability to relate to others.

3. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally
and in writing.

4. Knowledge and skills in chemical dependency and crisis
intervention.

5. Ability to solve problems in a crisis situation.

6. Ability to work as a team member.

7. Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

8. Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to
perform assigned tasks.

9. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.

10. Ability to work courteously with the general public,
clients and co-workers.

11. Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary
paperwork.

12. Ability to learn and apply training instruction.

13. Ability to maintain accurate records (to include
counting, alphabetizing and coding).

14. Ability to understand and follow **** and written
instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Basic computer or typing skills.

2. Knowledge of record keeping systems.

3. If a recovering chemically dependent person, must have
a minimum of two years clean and sober and be able to provide
documentation if requested.

4. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

5. Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist,
reach, pull and lift heavy objects.

6. Able to climb stairs several times a day.

7. Must pass a criminal background check as determined by
Central City Concern criteria.

8. Must adhere to all Agency policies, including but not
limited to, non-discrimination, safety, drug and alcohol-free

9. Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and
clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political
affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual
orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity.
