Stories that don’t need a sequel but it would be awesome

As the title suggests, this post is about stories that ended well enough and tied up loose ends but the window is still potentially left open for more. Right off the bat, I have to go with “What Nick and John Saw” by Deensmith. Hugely underrated story and writer. I absolutely loved it from start to finish. The story has a satisfactory ending but strongly hints at rematches to come. I also have to include the very first series I ever read in full on this site. JB’s Kris series. It ends with our two leading ladies going on a treasure hunting trip with their favorite rivals. A good place to end and leave the rest to the imagination but also a chance to keep going.

I’m not talking about stories that hinted at sequels that never came like Angel’s Private Eye series. If this sounds like I’m begging for more of these stories, well…Yes and no. I’ll leave the decision up to the authors as always. Just letting my opinions be heard on the matter.

I agree Yuri but let me speak more in general. Most of the stories I have read here, for many years, could have a sequel.
So, if some of all these writers who wrote them want so, they could write it.
Especially if they are in the mood to write a new story but they have not ideas that particular time. They can continue the older ones.
    It is easier.

Or, other writers could write it, if the first writer is asked and he gaves his/her permission.
JB is a specialist doing so.

    Hi Yuri,

A few points: I write most of my stories with the idea that the characters can return for sequels, if the inspiration strikes me at some point in the future. I'd forgotten that the first "Kris" story, "Part-Time Work" had ended in that way, but thanks for the reminder! I've always planned to come back to that, I just never have. BTW, PTW is the first Kris story but not the last or the only one -there are two more -"Oil Fight" and "A Hard Day's Night." I think that both of these are flashback stories, however. I've been working on a story featuring the stripper that Kris fights in "Oil Fight" (I think her name is Val) for some time and may eventually get that done.

As I wrote, I try to keep all of my stories/characters open for sequels. Some situations and characters just lend themselves more naturally to sequels, however. The Inge stories, the Neverwhere stories, Duranna, and Kris are all obvious examples of series that, potentially, can go on forever. Some other stories just seem to end to me, sometimes to the considerable chagrin of some readers. For example, a few years ago, I wrote a story named "Hot Tub Parties" that, to me, came to a natural end. For a long time afterward, however, one particular reader kept pleading for a sequel. I just did not feel the inspiration to do a sequel.

Giannis is also correct - a lot of my stories are continuations of others' stories. As I've explained before, that is how I started writing, with a sequel/continuation of the first Inge story. To be honest, I don't really like doing this. I love reading and getting excited about the work of others so I am always overjoyed when a great new writer appears on the board and writes in a way that I find appealing or when an established writer puts out a new story.

Anyway, I'm interested to see for which of my stories readers would like to see sequels/continuations. It will, at least, give me an idea of where there is some interest. Please, no one mention "Wife vs. Mistress" - it's stalled again, but I will finish it!

For myself, I'd like to see some stories completed - top of my list is Talebearer's "Once Upon a Time." I nagged Kingofdapirates for ages for a sequel to "A Cold Chill" and I'm overjoyed that he started it - now I'm just hoping for part 2 sometime soon!

I'd love to see more of A Penman's "Beth and Sandra" but I won't bug him about that because he did do an incredible sequel to the first story. Still, he left us with the possibility of Beth fighting a pizza delivery girl, if my memory serves. (In fact, I think he wrote that story, I just can't seem to find it at the moment).

I agree with JB. I also try to keep my stories open for sequels as I tend to get attached to my characters and want to have the opportunity to "see" them again if inspiration strikes.

About sequels I want to read: JB's Fitness Club Rivals, Catfgrl's An Office Tussle, King's Perfect Ingredient, Catharsis' Perfect Pair, Ccfight's Bring It On, Spear's Ivy and Rose... and ALL by Emery.

Re: Stories that don’t need a sequel but it would be awesome

As a huge reader/fan of A. Penman, JM57, or a number of other board writers, would love
a sequel to right many of their hot stories. Yes, that really would be awesome.

Especially their standalone stories. stories that have women who have not crossed over to other
    stories from the same writer.
These crossover stories are super-hot - don't get me wrong.

But to me, these standalone stories SCREAM sequel or at lease, a continuation.
If not with both of the sexy women from a story, how about another story with one of the sexy women.

For instance, in JB's super-hot western story - Wildcats: Tara vs, Carrie. = love this one, big time.
I personally, would love to read the further sexual exploits of Carrie. Not exactly a sequel, but a continuation,
    starring Carrie from Wildcats.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Would love a sequel to apenman's classic m-d-d-m story. How do the four of them live together?

    Spear's Ivy and Rose
Ivy & Rose: I started it, lost inspiration, the. I wrote Olympia, now another stand alone story is almost finished, after that I will focus on „Ivy&Rose: 2018“

I would love to see more of Catharsis' "Rowenna" stories, particularly more of her fighting the succubus. That is a great rivalry and one I hope he continues.
