Here are the first two chapters of my new story.

Chapter 1: Roma’s Maladies

Claudia’s fleshy girlfriend Roma had been a bit under the weather that summer. Body aches, fatigue and what not. Claudia, who was a doctor, had been treating Roma but she wasn’t getting any better. Claudia reckoned the weather in Boise, Idaho, where they lived, could be the principal instigator of Roma’s maladies. It had been uncannily hot that summer. It had gone on for nearly a month now. Roma would lay on the couch all day, wearing just a skimpy blouse, showing off her nice fleshy legs. She would whine and whimper all day, like some horny bovine animal, as she slept on the couch. Claudia would check on her mutinous girlfriend during her practice. Though she hated Roma’s whining, she liked to look at her girlfriend’s beautiful body every now and then. It was a dry arid summer in Boise, Idaho where Claudia and Roma lived in a large five-bedroom stucco house. The nights, unlike the days, were far from silent. Eastern screech owls let out their almost symphonic mating calls at systematic intervals. The truth was that Claudia did not want Claudette anywhere near Roma. Roma was once a famous wrestler for a now defunct erotic wrestling video production company. She was almost like a trophy girlfriend for Claudia. Moreover, things had been icy between Claudia and Claudette ever since they had finished medical college. Claudia feared Claudette would be intensely jealous because her former mate was now dating a beautiful woman like Roma.

Unknown to Claudia, the feisty Roma was privy to the sexual jealousy over her body between the two former best friends. She got a real kick out of Claudia sweating whenever she mentioned Claudette’s name. Which is why she persisted with her wish to be treated by Claudette. Chapter 2: Claudia and Claudette – A Brief History

In college, Claudia Leotardo wore her hair short. It was normal for the nineteen-year-old Claudia to be mistaken for a boy. You didn’t get into Northwest Nazarene College, the best college in Idaho, if you were a dull and stolid student. Claudia had not just the best scores, but she got in on a scholarship. In the first year, she was like a champion Olympic sprinter who left behind the rest of her class. No other student was at her level. Her teachers felt she was destined for greatness.

Enter Claudette Schirripa. She was transferred to Nazarene from Meridian Medical College after a recommendation from her teachers. She came in at the start of the second year. Her scores were tremendous. Like Claudia, she had got in on a scholarship.
It is dangerous to speak of two talented young women as rivals. But that is what their fellow students and teachers did to Claudia and Claudette. The two burgeoning medical scholars were plunged into a terrible rivalry that neither of them had asked for. But it was bequeathed upon them like a crown of thorns. Almost as if society tied them together to struggle against each other.

What started off as a harmless rivalry between the two talented and promising students of medicine, soon turned into an intense and emotional relationship between the two women. There was mutual admiration. But also, a fierce sense of competitiveness.

Perhaps, what really brought the two women together was their similarities. Both were orphans. They had made it on their own. They were from small towns in Idaho. True daughters of the soil, not old rich wastrels. Both women believed in tenacity and hard work. But perhaps the characteristic that inevitably bound them together was their dedication to physical fitness. Physically, both women were tough as axes. Not an inch of fat on their mesomorphic muscular bodies. The rivalry was initially limited to their performances in classes and their scores in exams. But it was not long before the women discovered that they were well matched physically as well.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer is a thought that their Sicilian ancestors lived by. The two women were no different. Claudia invited Claudette to study with her at the library. Then Claudette invited Claudia to workout with her at the gym. Then they both asked to be moved into the same room so that they could live together. Rumors began to abound about the nature of their relationship and whether the two young women were sleeping with each other.

The competition reached a head when Claudette, who used to wear her hair long, cut her hair short so that she looked like the mirror image of Claudia. Claudia was both flattered and angered. But that remained the legacy of Claudia and Claudette at the Nazarene college. Two lookalike women forced into and locked in a fierce and seemingly never-ending rivalry with each other.
