How do mergers and acquisition work?
A merger would occur when two companies agree to operate as one. Each company could be the equal of the other. An acquisition is when a powerful companies takes over another company (usually through financial prowess). Acquisitions can have mixed results. Google acquired YouTube and made it a powerful entity. Yet Renault, a French car manufacturer with a miserable reputation for quality, took over Nissan infusing Nissan with the same poor quality (check their recent reliability).

Re: How do mergers and acquisition work?
If you are running an organization and planning to do an M&A, how would you handle it at the data level? You can fight for accurate and reliable analytics in your organization using imaa Events from https://imaa-institute.org/upcoming-events/ and this issue goes to the first plan when processing data from two companies during an M&A deal. Full integration often takes months or even years, and you must ensure proper data integration during this period.
