KENT, Wash. - A man who placed a lava lamp on a hot stovetop was killed when it exploded and sent a shard of glass into his heart, police said.
Philip Quinn, 24, was found dead in his trailer home Sunday night by his parents.
?Why on earth he was heating a lava lamp on the stove, we don?t know,? Kent Police spokesman Paul Petersen said Monday.
A lava lamp features blobs of wax in liquid that rise and fall in a container when heated by a bulb at the base of the lamp.
After the lamp exploded, Quinn apparently stumbled into his bedroom, where he died Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Police found no evidence of drug or alcohol use.
DAMN, he's 24 years old and he doesn't know you don't heat up a lava lamp on the stove? He didn't know that a lava lamp already has a bulb under the base to heat up the lava/wax?
This is just one of those where ya scratch ya head, wrinkle your face and say, "what the hell were you thinking man"?

I grew up with one that was clear water and had sparkley silver glitter inside.... til my brother when he was 5 or 6 I think opened the bottle up and I screamed as I walked in the room right when he did it.... uhhhhh it got ugly.... [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img]
