the world is made up of aggressive sellers.
hell, i commend a great deal of them mainly
because they have a seemingly innate ability
to disregard the fact that they are fucking
annoying and rude. being that oblivious, i
can applaud that, most certainly.
we are all aggressive sellers in some respect...
especially when we attempt to sell an item
or idea that we find personally beneficial.
nothing wrong with that.
however, is it necessary to reduce yourself
to their lowest common denominator when
trying to escape from their clutches???
i mean, do we HAVE to be just as annoying
and/or rude for them to take a fucking hint??
telemarketers are the one group that may
jump to mind immediately... but hell,
telemarketing sucks ass... and i seriously
doubt that any sane individual WANTS to
intentionally push a lame product onto
someone that, with all due respect, has
no reason to own such an item.
i've been a telemarketer and i hated it.
it was a short-lived experience for me and
while i can honestly say that i will never
do it again... i can also pity (to some
extent) those that have the job.
but i'm not talking about telemarketers...
or sketchy salespeople that walk up to you
selling insurance, advertising, etc
no....
in particular, i'm referring to those that
electively CHOOSE to sell gay-assed products
that, through technology and evolution,
most certainly would have become obsolete
by now had it not been for those lazy
bastards that sell the shit.
while i could reference the 'hardened'
twenty-somethings selling newspapers,
magazines, and travel packages as some
segway into a 'better life'... i'm more
concerned with the morons that attempt to
sell mary-fucking-kay.
thats right... mary kay.
WHY OH WHY does this product line still
exist???
well i've already answered that...
because some women figure they can actually
earn that pink cadillac by selling 5 items
to their friends on a lazy weekend.
i suppose that selling AVON counts as well...
but honestly... aren't they all the same thing??

a couple of days ago while out with some
people i knew, we 'collided' with another
girl sheerly through situational circumstance.
after about 30 minutes of small talk...
the subject of employment came up to which
she excitedly announced that she was a
mary kay representative. this didn't bother
me initially... because i find the whole
out-dated process fascinating... but after
about 10 minutes of her yacking away about
the gay 'job'... she asked me if i wanted
a brochure.
out of kindness i accepted.
she was elated.
i should have seen the red flag.
we hung out a little more (in group fashion)
and the separation of parties eventually
caused her to carry her ass elsewhere.

a day passes... and i get a phone call from
an unrecognized phone number. being an
asshole that screens her calls... i don't
answer (because shit... wtf would i talk
to someone that i don't already have on my
call list???).
my gut told me it was her... but without
leaving a message, i really have no idea.
THE VERY NEXT FUCKING DAY....
she comes to my work... to talk to me....
(remember, we had discussed our jobs)
MY WORK!!! MY FUCKING PLACE OF FUCKING EMPLOYMENT!!!!
TO TALK TO ME!!!!!! ABOUT GAY MARY KAY!!!!
yeah... that's right...
she trys like hell to get me to come out
with her and her 'friends' to some 'party'
where she is giving everyone a makeup thing.
ok... well lets just say that judging by
her own face... rest assured there is no
way in hell i'm going to let this blind
woman apply makeup -- or anything for that
matter -- to my face.
i kindly reject the offer stating that it
was short notice and i had shit planned.
i thought that this was a cool way to handle
it. i wasn't mean... even though i was a
tad peeved about her coming to my fucking
job about some gay makeup party.
let me go ahead and cut to the chase...
she has fucking called me EVERYDAY at work
after that moment to trap me into a party...
and its seriously pissing me off.
though i don't want her calling me at all...
i can't figure out why she insists upon
calling my work (instead of my phone)...
and i CAN'T figure out how she is failing
to see how fucking RUDE it is.
my problem -- i just don't know how to tell
her off... MOST IMPORTANTLY... how to tell
her off while on the job.
don't get me wrong... i have no issues with
telling her off... i just don't know how
to do it without:
1) anyone from my job hearing it -- thereby
confirming the fact that i'm a fucking bitch...
to some 'customer' on the phone
2) having her show up at my job with or
without a shotgun
3) effectively making the transition from
knowing X-marykayrepresentative to NOT
knowing X-marykayrepresentative
i swear to god she will call me again...
and i'm just not sure how to handle it
in a diplomatic fashion.... i guess its
just not my nature to complete morons.
please advise
Reminds me of a jehovah's witness. Tell her you can no longer accept calls at work. Then ignore her call's to your home. Hopefully she will get the picture. If not then break out the "arkinsaw whoopass" and let er have it. [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img]
