I really got a kick out of the hip furniture and shag carpets! It was so funny to see how the things we take for granted today were sooo new to his era.

i think memphis is like any other city, only it
just happens to have a lot of history and crap
    that gives it an edge.

i'll admit that many areas of memphis are, well,
nasty... but i also think that those nasty places
are just the more populated (and more popular)
making it a bit 'uncomfortable'. most of the
main driving areas in memphis are ghetto, but
there are many nice places as well.

the mud island post had me rolling. hahah!
i like mud island... but i also agree that there
are many interesting 'people' that also happen
to adhere to the more popular spots.

i think memphis is just a hub for difference.

i like all the attractions though. memphis in
may and the other assorted music fests that
happen. i honestly can't say that i've ever
been to memphis and disliked it. i think its
    fascinating.

    I went, I saw, I returned...

And, to no surprise, I saw the usual guy pissing in the crowd of thousands in the mud which splashed upon the back of the legs of the guy in front of him.

The BO was kickin' as were the bands. One of the douche bags I went with made me miss 2 of the main concerts I wanted to see. Those being the North Mississippi Allstars and Ben Kweller.

The Killers and Jack Johnson were AMAZING! Good shows. I ate a turkey leg for the first time. It was a lot more moist than I thought it would be. Pointless information, but part of the experience.

The rumors were flowing as much as the watered-down beer. "There's no power right now. No bands are playing...everything's on a 2-hour delay." "Nelly's sister died and instead of him, 3-6 mafia's going to play." "The Killers and Nelly switched stages because Nelly said he wanted to 'flip the script' on the crowd." Dumbasses.

Ah, yes. Memphis in May has come and gone yet again, and was as predictable as it was enjoyable. Take that to mean whatever you want.

Did I mention we had a blow out not only on the way to Memphis, but another on the way back?!?

    Cheers.
