was on friendster a bit ago to which i saw
several 'lush' ads for an online dating
service. there were two ads that i saw but
try as i might, i was only able to retrieve
one of them. here it is...

the original ad i saw was much more ridiculous...
but also featured an ad displaying the
inflated chest of some faceless female
casually emphasizing that love can be found
below the neck as long as you sign up for
their program. (incidentally, the program
is $40 a month)
after seeing the second ad, i felt violated
and angered by such a sexist and ridiculously
moronic ad that i had to visit the site...
surprise surprise... the ads on site looked
more like these people:
of course both ads attempt to legitimize
this scandalous rip-off service, but its
humorous to see the drastic change of
imagery from ad to ad.
at any rate, if you were to visit TRUE and
click through the profiles, you'd see what
you normally see on such sites... three
kinds of people:
1) actual people that use the service hoping
to meet someone that won't rob them,
embarrass them, or basically murder them in
the shower
2) actual people that find it entertaining
to take advantage of the free profile
feature by creating some stupid profile
about themselves or people they know with
added obscure information about a preference
to eat pudding from a cup.
3) actual people that find a boost to their
ego to pose for a slutty picture or using
an image from the internet and say something
even more gay in the profile so that they
can find out just how sexy they can be
while hiding safely behind the screen.
at any rate, my beef is about the ads....
yeah... the ads. stupid stupid ads...
there is another ad that i find a bit..."demeaning"...i guess that's the right word...
anyways...it's a picture of a busty model with her shirt half open....the caption says "We are busting at the seams with attractive females" or something along those lines.

Plain ads like that don't bug me cause I usually have them blocked before my brain is able to process the image. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Flash ads are an incredible pain in the ass though, cause I really don't have any way to block flash without turning it all off, which then make me unable to see flash that I actually want to see. [img]mad.gif[/img]
the ad didn't really bother me as much as seeing some
lame ad with a faceless person's chest in my face.
