have a good holiday doing whatever it is
you will be doing... just don't be shooting
rifles in the air because i saw on mythbusters
that you CAN be killed by the bullet on the
return path.... (rofl).

i'll be heading out to goshen later this
eve to a slammin' bbq redneck party. (i only
call it redneck because goshen IS redneck
country)

i'll be staying overnight so i won't have
the ability to post some holiday crap the
day of.... ok, well i *could* have the
access... but i sure as hell won't have the
"ability".

be safe, folks...

don't drink and drive....

but if you do drive, head to goshen...
and get drunk there!

rock steady

I saw that Mythbusters. Didn't they bust that one? The bullet would return with the same velocity as anything else falling from a great height; 32 feet per second. The same as hail. They were shooting straight-up on saltflats, and none of the bullets fell with enough velocity to cause more damage than a black&blue.

i believe they said that if the bullet were fired
straight up (vertically), the bullet would waver
on the return path -- falling at an angle (not
directly down) and thereby causing wind resistance
to create a lame return.

however, they DID say that if the bullet were
fired at an angle (say, 45 degrees), the bullet
would continue on its original course -- forming
a complete arch... and travelling at enough
speed to cause injury.

(teehee... i just KNEW you'd watch that show!!)
