why does it seem that europe only wants to
consider itself a collective when its most
convenient?

because individually we're not big enough to have real events?
And to be honest, i do consider europe one .. thing.
I mean, i am still nationalistic about my country, in the sense that it's the only political entity that i see as my home, but i do consider myself a citizen of .. well europe.
I'd be equally at home in england, germany or belgium as i'd be in the netherlands
[edit]
In fact, germany pulls on me, for some reason. I feel dutch, but i just have a past in germany, so i like going there.

i hope you realize i was only being partly serious.
i WAS being serious in that rhetorical question,
but i certainly didn't toss it out there for
you to justify (i wasn't trying to be negative).
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.....
to reply in a serious manner:
i think that if europe became a stronger collective,
(and quit being so damned nice/cowardly)....
we (america) would have to kow-tow

Heh.. but that's just how europe is. And to be honest, i like the several countries under one organization idea. More than i like the idea of a federal europe.
