Do kids these days still play marbles?I remebr in first grade making a little hole in the ground,droping a handful of marbles in it then drawing a circle around the hole and trying to knock the marbles out of the circle or something like that.

It has phases where it's 'big', but it's never really away.
i suppose i'm the only one that has never associated
or be in some relational situation where marbles
were played in that game format.....
usually marbles were just used as decoration or
ammo....
I remember playing with those things as a kid. They were a "modernization" of the old ball on a string w/ ping-pong paddle. All you had to do in twitch your wrist & the plastic balls would clack & bounce making a circle.
Ususally, would bust the cheap plastic handle from the string & use the plastic balls as a bola. Played lots of war-games as a kid hurling those things at each others feet.
