McFARLANE

yeah... todd mcfarlane, mofos...

starting out as a comic book artist, mcfarlane
has acredited so much fame for his art....
mcfarlane created SPAWN.... if that says
anything to you.

normally i would tell you to practice some
discretion when grabbing any old toy off
the shelf to save as an investment for the
future... in fact, i would give you so much
insight on what NOT to do... that it would
take too much of my/your time to read through
it all.

however, grab any old mcfarlane toy...
you have yourself a winner.

naturally there are fine elements to this...
like discretion to variants, exclusives,
low production numbers, etc....

but to a person that just wants to grab
a toy and wait a few years to see its
value development... you can't get any better
with mcfarlane (unless its alex ross... but
thats another story).

the market is FLOODED with mcfarlane...
walmart, toys r us, k b toys, target...
they all carry him.

some of his toys increase in value within
2-5 years... jumping the price three-five fold.

to speak on his toys alone (without mention
to his comic art)... they are probably
the finest, most detailed toys you'll ever
see... and tons of companies and artists
are jumping the mcfarlane bandwagon....
michael turner, for example, creator of the
FATHOM series, is a prime example.

** you can compare images/art style here:

mcfarlane's SPAWN

mcfarlane's ANGELA

michael turner's FATHOM

turner's FATHOM

turner's WITCHBLADE

turner found on HOSTBOARD heh heh

(now don't get me wrong. i totally dig michael
turner... in fact, i jumped the bandwagon
when FATHOM was released... but the fucking
issues took forever and i got bored. so my
FATHOM escapade lasted for 5 issues)

anyways....

grab a fucking mcfarlane toy....
throw it in a closet for a few years
viola! instant collector

new mcfarlane series are coming out faster
than you can blink. if you so choose, get
the entire run of a series in completion.
use discretion on that, however... cuzza
you may pick a series that has a shitload
of variants.... heh heh... and that is costly
in money and time!

here's a good starter session:

check mcfarlane's site and learn about new
and previously issued toy series:

www.spawn.com
(or jump right to some mcfarlane info HERE)

let me shed some more advice:

CLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!

6 figures... $70 with a $10 shipping fee

thats $11.40 per figure

you WILL NOT find those figures for $11.40
at walmart or toys r us

dorothy alone is going for @ $20 on ebay...
which can make you conclude that the dorothy
will be hard to find in a store.

grab a set.... put it away.....

mcfarlane has issued baseball and football
figures recently... so thats the new gig.

DO IT PEOPLE!!!!
