Same reason people buy Fords.
They're stupid.
i'm just wondering
For once...TG speaks words of wisdom
well i've already assumed that much....
but i'm wondering what trinkets of enlightement
one receives when pondering the quandry of
purchasing a mac... or say a pencil.
Well, I have to say that the old Macs were awesome and reliable; we used to own one and it STILL works. Now I know about half a dozen ex-Mac users that went to PCs. Their comment was,"I can have this kind of trouble for half the price." I have to feel that when Gates gave Apple bail-out money, it was like George Bailey shaking hands with Potter. There was some corporate mutation at the genetic level and things Mac just aren't what they used to be.

The new Mac G4 rocks in the way of Power Processor speed. We have one at work and well if it could do all the stuff we needed it to do and if you could get software for it... well it would be one kick ass machine. But since you cant... I guess it would go along the lines of why to people that live in places like Aspen drive Porsche? You cant find anyone there to work on them, they are very fickle and hard to upgrade anything on them with a Degree in bio- chemical molecule standards (made that part up) They are just a complete pain in the ass. But when people walk in the room and see it they all go WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NICE well untill they have to sit and work on it then they hate it. But hey they are allowed to ... it sure cost enough.
Ask TG why he bought the SS instead of just a basic Chevy... sort of goes along the same lines I would think. It just plain rocks 'til you have to fix it.
<font size="4" face="Tempus Sans ITC, Tahoma">Hah! It's funny that you mention that. I have a friend that makes his living as a PC service technician. I once asked him a service question about a Mac and he said,"I don't work on Macs. You can't make a living working on Macs because they don't break down often enough." That was about 5 years ago. I think things might be different now. In any event, PCs have their share of problems but I'd rather have something that is easier to fix, even if it breaks down more often, than something so exotic that you have to wait for the Pros from Dover to make a housecall in between rounds of golf. Now where did I put that jar of olives....Originally posted by Cya:

42 pounds?
I'd say Mr. Macintosh needs to hit the gym!
Anyway, some of you may have already seen this Mac spoof. Pretty funny stuff:
