Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher has the best handle on the WTC Tragedy...
(in my opinion)....he's worth staying up until 12:30 pm to watch (ABC) if you are in the U.S.

Politically Incorrect is my favorite show on television (besides Seinfeld and The Simpsons of course).
Bill Maher isnt afraid to take a stance on issues and speak his mind. He is also quick on his feet (and I dont mean the 100 meter dash) and witty .

Well it's a good thing you are not a televison critic, your "mince no words" and insightful assessment would have made for a concise, accurate "tree-savin" column.
Glad you appreciate the information, SHATOUSHKA....especially since you don't watch TV....wow!
We are out of control in this country with self-absorbing "Reality-TV" and up the second Wall Street Updates....It's so sad that an amazing silver lining "may" only emerge because this tragedy that took so many lives, happened.
It just depends on how tightly American Media holds on to their current tunnel-vision of Retaliation without Self-Examination.
Bill Maher and Michael Moore are two beacons of light in the Current Media Broadcast Wasteland of "There Must be 50 ways to capture Bin-Ladin" currently being played over and over.

what humors me most is something having to do with what you said, alex.
there is too much reality (based?) tv out there, and america is eating it up by the shovelful.
what is interesting is we got reality tv and the snippits from the WTC--but none the two shall meet.
if we are so hungry for reality tv, why was there no shots of badly burned, skinless victims of the WTC? why doesn't the public get to see the several thousand chopped pieces of humans?
i hate that kind of shit. (oooops, sorry, i was a little peeved)
don't try and pacify the public with you reality tv and then be to wussy to really show reality tv. ya know?
well, better stop on that here.
things could get ugly from here on in.

alex--
i am not sure how to interpret you post.
do you want to have a discussion of 'the big picture' despite the cold-heartedness...
or is that what you meant?
i do not know what you mean.

There is a fence that divides us from other countries...it is a corporate fence.
It is also a magicians trick...."you all look over here....while I do the trick...then you can look back"
Reality TV and Wall Street were both becoming so prolific, they were growing in stature by the day....and nothing in this country was going to stop it...and ironically, it was something from outside this country that made it momentarily stop.
We have no mechanism in this country that allows us to say..."time-out".
That is the flaw of capitalism, no built in braking mechanism.

Not exactly sure how you mean that, but I have written about that aspect on another site.
There is a bigger picture in all of this....it's just that if you were personally affected last Tuesday, who cares about the bigger picture.
Those who want a discussion of the bigger picture are called cold-hearted.
I just don't want to see more die avenging the initial deaths until we all know more.
