The obvious answer to me is no.

Or would it be truly "evil" to not "allow" humans and animals to exist where they could exist?

Is it possible to not "allow" something to exist?

I beleive evil can exist without humans.

What is evil? Let us assume it is a state outside the norm that enables violent behavior. In the animal world an adverse environment, such as overcrowding, can become such an environment leading to animals behaving in what we may call "evil" behavior.

Whilst taking into account that evil is a purely human invention, I believe such similar behavior could and does exist in the animal world with or without humans.

I pose to say as "evil" doesn't exist in the first place... so your question is irrelevant(sp?)... to me at least biggrin

???Evil without humans??? This is nonsense. It's like those art-without-humans (don't try to give that "idyllic sunset" bullshit), or colors-without-eyes arguments.
    Mr Black Stock...
Your fame deserves your name. I would never invest a nickel on it.

While i do admit that evil is a human concept alone, as we cannot know an animal kingdom version of it, we have to use it. And i stand by what i said about aberant behavior (yes, it may be considered "evil" for all intensive purposes) stemming from unnatural environments.

I do not know about the sunsets and colours? You lost me there!?

One might say that an idyllic sunset is a piece of art. This is ridiculous because:
    a) if art imitates reality, then what reality does Nature imitate by this idyllic scenery?
    b) if art transcends reality, then what reality does Nature transcend by this idyllic sunset?
Art is exclusively human insofar as it meets an artistic intention.
Now, evil is also exclusively human because:
    a) Animals do not transcend (or, trespass) their nature,
    b) Humans often act in absolute ignorance or defiance of their nature.

    Food for the brain:
In the beginning there was only good.
Then the weak got jealous of the strong, and named the latter and their ways "evil".

Not quite entirely true with respect to your food for thought.
There were those weak ones who believed that it was in their "god"'s hands and who believed that their poverty would lead to greatness in "heaven", thus they were not jelous, and not "evil".
So I think perhaps you should not include all of the weak, just make referance perhaps that it was only some of them wink
