Hello to the members of General Philosophy. My name is Luke and I would like to introduce myself.
I have been interested in philosophy for a long while. I first got a taste of it when I entered college (a long time ago). I have since studied the thoughts and methods pertaining to many of the current 'idols' in philosophy.
I have been a member of other philosophy groups along the way, even some on the internet. It never fails that somewhere the foundation of philosophy breaks down and the group gets tangled on trivial differences.
I took a break from internet philosophy groups for this sole purpose.
After a time, philosophy and the need to discuss has led me here.
I will admit to all that I have not done a careful nor thorough search online for adequate philosophy groups whom will meet my needs.
As a bit of truth, I happened upon Hostboard and I thought I'd take the chance. I hope this doesn't fail me.
I intend on having worthwhile discussion.
I hope that the members of General Philosophy welcome this change and accept me mostly as an observer. I will post when I find the need.
I am not familiar with the functions of this message board and it should not take me long to become aquainted with them. Please allow me the time to figure this out.
Right now, I must view the topics in this forum. Glazing over the titles, this seems to be a place to start, perhaps not.
I look forward to having educated discussion.

er...i'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'an educational discussion', luke, but i sure hope you find it here.
this forum isn't exactly limited to philosophy, which can be expected on a public forum (as you apparently have stated in knowing).
however, i am sure you might be able to give us something we don't have.
*shrugs*
who knows.

Hello Luke, I am sure you will enjoy it here. I have only been posting for a short time, yet i feel like i am part of the family. Depending on your defintion of family i guess. Feel free to respond to all my posts. I would suggest that you go back and enjoy some of the humorous posts of ek3 and tastingood. I know when i am having a down day, i can read some of those posts and they bring a smile to my face. We are lucky indeed to have a moderator as kind and generous as Shatoushka. (i still wonder what that means, enlighten me if you dont' mind Shatoushka). Please, make yourself at home as i did, and you will be sure to enjoy your stay.
