It is no doubt part of the Australian idiom but only because it stems from the British. Rather generically, it just means "woman of ill repute."

But you'll find a number of meanings for it, some more insulting than others....

i agree with david quinn, drowden, or any other 'genius' that empiricyst may be, that britney spears is a women of ill repute.
i dont understand all the fuss, she is not that attractive....i guess it is the fact that she'll do anything to make a buck that excites the men.
