Both porn and art can be considered good or bad under the right circumstances.
If I smeared the remains of last nights dinner on a canvas, that would either ruin the canvas, or become a valuable piece of art.
I am no longer able to finish the thought because I have ot gotten enough sleep and my brain is o longer functioning properly. I shold probably go sleep.

Now that I understand that this was the piece you were thinking of Shatoushka, I'll say that if your picture is to be considered porn, it would definately have been more overtly sexual or provocative. It always has been a fine line yet in most instances, a distinct line between pornography and art.

and yes, this was the piece i was referring to. (clever you!)

you have prompted me to expound further on this subject...

lets suppose that someone decided to re-create this same pic using a live model.
since the model could not possibly maintain the position that the image shows, lets say that the person taking the pic decided to rig him/herself above the model while she is laying down--either on a manmade recreated background or superimposed on one. (seems like the most logical way to go about it)

i would think that many viewers of the recreated image would consider it art as well.

however, lets suppose someone wanted to take a similar pic, using a different 'model', supplying her on top of a bed, couch, lawn, whatever...
i think that some would shout porn.
(if i have to find a porn shot similar to this...i will.)

this is what i don't get. it is because of this hypothetical that i do not clearly see the differences in porn and art.

(of course, thinking of a recreation of such a piece into a still shot of a live model sends shivers up my spine.
that would be cool as hell!!!!)
