i was listening to the radio this morning of the way to school. the topic of conversation was the various food and clothing drives that are currently taking place in central arkansas.
there were several callers that were greatly saddened that there were children without enough food to eat and without warm clothing.
why is it that people only care about the poor when it is the holiday season? is the rest of the year not sacred enough to lend a helping hand?

even in holidays, do people ACTUALLY care about the poor?
giving away a few unwanted possessions is not caring. it is only to relieve one's own conscience. ie quota of good deed fulfilled for the year.
