I see that QuickSI didnt actually make the image thingy that is shown on that page.
I would say that it was put up moreso as a token gesture just because that is what is expected by...dare i say it....society.
As far as a 'rememberance' page....wtf doesnt already remember it?

i am so sick of all these tributes going on at the moment on every fucking tv station.
As an aethist as well, i find it upsetting that somepeople think that 'their' GOD rules us all, what is also upsetting is that people assume that their GOD is the one that will bless us on that day but many of those who died worshipped Allah as well (not refering to the hijackers) even some Buddists perished as well..
It has come to the point (well a long time ago) that seeing these photos of the towers falling doesnt even stir an emotion anymore for the victims but more an angriness at the people that contiune to show these pictures to promote fear, hatred and brainwashing. and for many i think, who have watched CNN. ABC, CBS, NBC news all this time are now waiting for the next terror attacks as they have grown bored of this one.
The claim that this is the worst acts of Terror this world has ever seen is a joke, many people still see the dropping of the a-bomb on Japan as ok even though that act of terrorism killed more then 11/9.

i have realized that, based on my chosen
belief system, i would only be battered
and slandered for making such a post. </font></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>
I have seen such slander taking against many people that speak out against such 'Patriotic' hypicrites on the michael moore bulliten board. it is hard now a days to question some things without being called a traitor or a terrorist sympathiser..

i agree.
blatant atrocities such as hiroshima and now,
the full frontal on iraq, are applauded in
a macabre, sadistic light... it just makes my
blood curdle.
meanwhile, people are still starving in africa...

this post is discussing the admin. decision
to create a 9/11 remembrance tribute. if
you have yet to see it, click HERE
if you would like to see the original thread
this was posted in, click HERE
****************************************
i am highly pissed at this.
mainly, i am pissed at the final message.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
i understand that HB is owned and operated
by 1quickSI and he has the ultimate right
to do as he pleases on HB. however, nowhere
in the registration of an ID on this board
is there a disclaimer that reads:
"as an official HB poster, you are hereby
stricken from your own, self-chosen belief
system(s) and are now under the property
of the administration."
...or something to the effect thereof.
i thought that, if anything, 9/11 was to
show us just how criminal it is to impose,
thwart, suffocate, or otherwise shove a
(religious) system on a person/people.
9/11 isn't about terrorism.
'terrorism' is the name they give to such
maneuvers as listed above. forcing a persons
system to include yours, or to completely
disregard a person's system in favor of yours
is fucking WRONG.
ultimately, it shows just how hyprocritical
we really are... ESPECIALLY when it comes
to religion, religious systems, and faith.
i am an atheist. (this we all know)
but asside from the obvious extreme to
GOD BLESS AMERICA, there are countless others
whom live based on a religion or religious
system that has nothing to do with GOD or
a GOD or anything like that.
some cannot say the name of GOD, some cannot
read the word GOD, some prefer that if you
MUST use the word GOD, you alienate a letter,
such is the case with G*D.
the fact that 1quickSI dedicated that
'tribute' on behalf of HB posters, is
astounding.
the sentence reads:
"We at Hostboard would like to share our
remembrance of that tragic day of September 11, 2001.
May the world never forget...
Team Hostboard"
the first 3 words are what is oppressing.
sure, it is signed 'TEAM HOSTBOARD'...
but i would find it more legitimate to
have reworded the first 3 words to read:
<ul type="square">[*] the administration of HB[*]team hostboard
or ANYTHING segregating the various cultural
communities that is known as HB, instead
of giving the semantics that presume ALL
of HB is included in this statement.
there are various ethnic and cultural boards
on HB that express the very same ethnic
and cultural backgrounds as that of the
'terrorists' of 9/11.
it would be a wonder that they have survived
flame wars on their boards much less...
coming to the admin. forum and seeing such
an atrocity.
i shall speak for myself when i say, the
admin. and all the posters that approve
of such a 'tribute' are no different than
that which they are 'tributing'.
i am highly offended in the oppression based
on this one incident...
yet, despite my subjective claims, i am
doing nothing about it... just short of
posting this thread and intending on linking
it back to the acropolis.
when i first saw the 'tribute', i had
intentions of making this same post on the
thread in the admin. forum.
but, sadly, knowing the amount of righteous
xtian bastards applauding this hypocrisy,
i have refrained.
i have realized that, based on my chosen
belief system, i would only be battered
and slandered for making such a post.
it is the crusades revisited.
at first, i felt a deep appreciation for
the amount of effort 1quickSI devoted to
such a project. 1quickSI received a post
stating disgust in showing the tragedy
in all of its colossal, flaming glory.
i, for one, think it was marvelous.
in just 6 months after the tragedy, many
cynics (myself included), laughed at how
fast this 'tragedy' would blow over.
and indeed, it did.
people became sour to it.
showing the blazing pictures of the WTC
is a great refresher to the real feelings
rippling out on 9/11...
and to ban such images is only encouraging
people to escape that subjective reality.
1quickSI did good.
i still remain grounded on my stance.
the final statement is oppressive and criminal.
i despise the attempt to hollow out the
tragedy -- that is, that the tragedy only
affects those 'GOD believers'...
upon viewing the link, i at once felt a
good sweep over me, a togetherness again...
until i read GOD BLESS AMERICA.
i am ashamed and embarrassed.
i was not included in that tribute.

that made me laugh.
as a secondary tangent, might i add that i see
bush and the pope as polar extremes teetering
on the same line. bush -- full blooded american
xtian, ready to jab a crucifix in your freakin
heart so much as hear you say the pledge of
alligence without "god"...
and the poor, feeble pope KNOWING how friggin
hyprocritical his 'people' are... turning the
other cheek and pretending he didn't hear it.
now, back to our regularly scheduled program:
9-11, from what i know, is a recognized holiday.
that is... the holiday name was proposed and
bush ushered it into passage with a wave of his
hand.
WTF is it called???
america day??? something bogus like that.
anyway...
as you said, it has yet to become a kind of
holiday that allows employers to let folks
get off a day...
but can you just IMAGINE what that would be
like if it were???
people buying hotdogs and fireworks and shit
*shudders*
"what are you doing for the 11th?" i hear
them already asking.
"oh just gonna go to the lake with the fam and
roast a few weenies."
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!!!!
come to think of it, the bulk of our major
holidays are due to xtian celebrations.
despite that...
i am encountering yet another problematic
situation in the HB admin. in which, it seems,
people are encouraging HB to become a
totalitarian community.
not only that, but ONE poster in particular
seems that it is our right to know everything
about each other within this community.
i'll admit when i originally expressed my
opinion on the matter in the admin forum,
i had brought up your board in particular,
socialaus (though refrained from touting
the board directly).
(you can visit the thread i am speaking about HERE )
pay no attention to my spelling mistakes in that post
i was highly astounded at the level of intrusion
being requested on that thread... and my fingers
tend to skip right over letters when i am in
that frame of mind.
anyway...
i can only assume that because this OTHER poster
is american (and raised in such a society), they
feel that it is their *excuse my french* god-given
right to know this information...
due to these things... these reasons i have
expressed in this thread alone, i find it humorous,
much less a MOCKERY, to ask HB members to donate to HB.
i do not see the benefit in supporting a message
board system that sways to popular demand as
opposed to grounded ethics.
i have spattered enough already. it is time i sleep.

i read the link and i can understand your disgust with some people on HB about what is going on. totalitarian community is not the kind of community that HB should become nor sugesting that members donate money etc. (i have noticed before some tension between **** vs you & a few others )
just reading thru the post you made refering to the s&c board, i think you nail most of it on the head there.
we are open to new posters but unfortunatly the time you and a few others decided to post there, there was some internal conflict that portrayed badly on our behalf (Mainly Rolf Vs everyone else)
about not posting certain topics - well that was kind of anti rolf movement happening i guess it is because of previous experiences most of us had at another BB Michael Moore's. there was an area that was basicaly for left wing talk but we had a few 'invasions' of Nazi's from Stormfront and it became chaotic, disruptive and we became refugees here so Fisk tries to stop flamming and others tring to disrupt the place but unfortunatly it might of driven away a few potential posters.
Most of us there are quite liberal but we want a place that sticks to the main topics and we want other poster to visit, ask question but not attacking us, some people attack first then maybe then ask questions
BTW whats WOL?

when i made the comment about new threads, i
was speaking particularly about your attemt
to speak on PORN and other 'sexual deviancy'.
(if that is the case)
based on your PM to me, i had already understood
the S&C plight from the MM board and (on HB), other
flammers (to such topics).
i think that the S&C board is a good board. i
still lurk there yet never post.
i believe that perhaps the admin DOES have a
certain need to have the forum posted, however,
making such information MANDATORY is absolutely
BS.
i was more irritated in a certain posters
"RIGHT TO KNOW" attitude.
the admin. already possess the power to reseach
that infomation, if need be. this issue was
merely to make the job (of finding that information)
less hassle for the admin. then it turned into
that post war (if you can call it that).
THAT particular poster already has it out for
me, in that, whenever **** posts and i make a
reply, for some reason that necessitates a war.
regardless...
i refuse to post on a message board that warrants
such positions. had the admin. decided that MY
personal forum information was the friggin right
to everyone else... i do not think i could post
here any longer.
i place my forum information in my signature, and
only display my signature when i find it necessary.
this is my OPTION. and as long as i am given the
liberty of having an OPTION.. i see no reason
to create a self-righteous gestapo to force me
to do otherwise.
i'll simply ditch HB.

What happened was sad, I am sure that only a few will argue with that. But the "War on terrorism" has become a massive witch hunt. For a few weeks people around here were not treating each other like shit. But I knew it would not last, and I was right. Now everyone is talking about making memorials and all this crap. I would not be surprised if it became a national holliday. Nobody would call it that, they will give it some politically correct/religious name, but it is just an excuse to get the day off. The other day one of my co-workers asked "What are you going to do on 9-11?" She was one of the nicer employees so I just walked away instead of telling her what I thought, because I probably would have been fired. Everyone that works there is Xian and they probably would not have appreciated what I thought.
The Xian leaders have shoved themselves into power as well. After listening to some of the speeches, I was not sure if Bush was president or the pope's US representative. And everyone is becoming 'more spiritual' I am sick of it.

The "right to know" attitude has been on the increase since 11/9. something should be kept private from some members, i have nothing to hide yet i like privacy.
There should aways be options available to people to show thier details but forcing it upon members is out of the question.
hopefully this will all blow over in a couple of months when people forget about it and start thinking of chrismas
otherwise they will have a fight on their hands.
