I speak to men and women as if a little girl speaks to her doll. She knows of course that the doll does not understand her but she creates for herself the joy of communication through a pleasant and conscious self-deception.

What's so fascinating about Arthur Schopenhauer's quote is that it would have worked perfectly at the beginning of David Mamet's film called Oleanna.

This "Arthur Schopenhauer" quote takes on new meaning after one was has viewed the movie "Oleanna".
