The latest discussion among the media (moreso the conservative media), is whether dumb/unaware voters should bother to vote. Internet jokes are being sent via email about dumb/unaware voters who vote. The Mallard Comic Strip is bashing the notion of dumb/unaware voters voting.
Perhaps the dumb/unaware voter issue is being blown out of porportion. I think it's ok for a dumb/unaware voter to vote because that will always be the first step towards that voter becoming an aware voter who votes.
If every election this same unaware voter continued to vote then that could be seen as a bad thing, but perhaps they are voting the way their family or friends want them to vote, is that such a bad thing?
A dumb/unaware voter who punches their ballot in the same manner they would select a set of lotto numbers is something that probably doesn't solidify the concept of what voting is intended to be. Yet I wonder if all of the "lotto voters" wouldn't just cancel each other's vote due to mathematical probability laws.

Um, perhaps the question should have been should dumb voters make up the majority of the voting populace?
