I see Professional Female Tennis Athletes with Bulked-up arms and upper bodies that frankly, look about one or two shades away from the male form (just visualize the tapered front and arms of many successful female athletes).

Although Hitler lost World War II, his tweaked vision of a master race is currently thriving.

Our most revered and well paid sports and entertainment figures are increasingly being rewarded for their "cut" and suspiciously well toned bodies.

And other than a few extra Hamstring and Abdominal Oblique Muscle Pulls, those who take all the power enhancing and muscle building drugs are profiting from their use of drugs.

Sadly, these drug taking athletes are profiting at the expense of those athletes who eschew drugs.

The world as a whole has in fact stolen Hitler's premise of a "master race".

With a difference that seems to make Hitler's original concept (minus the horrible violence) acceptable.

Every race can practice being their own master race, and simply bulk up their own ethnic athletes and movie stars for profit.

Apparently, if Hitler had not taken himself so seriously, he could have been one rich and very popular dude.

Instead of Hitler so stupidly believing that people within his eyesight were somehow superior to everywhere else on the planet.

If Hitler had simply encouraged all countries to develop a master strain of their own race for sports and entertainment, both to keep the masses entertained and from which to create huge profit centers...

....Hitler would be a household name today in a totally different light.

Until we recognize an athletes right to NOT TAKE DRUGS of any kind AND until we create venues for drug-free athletes to compete against other drug-free athletes....

....AND UNTIL THESE DRUG FREE ATHLETES RECEIVE PUBLICITY AND MONEY on par to athletes that are taking performance enhancing drugs.....

....Hitler may have lost his battle, but the world has unwittingly embraced his vision for the future.

The quest to be better than the rest is a universal aspect of who we are as humans. In principle, they are doing the same thing and whilst I am not a Nazi sympathiser, I do see how Hilter's visions were just magnified versions of our own (who doesn't want to be the best?). The thing was that Hitler took his power and used it in such a way as to provoke a backlash and make humans reconsider ourselves (the style Robert Browning adopted to make nineteeth centurers see their social delapidation).

The thing was that with our morally righteous conscience of middle world, we found this (truthful) image of ourselves too overbearing and to disasterous consequences.

If you ever watch Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colours trillogy, you'll see how ironic it is when what we outwardly desire is liberty, equality and fraternity when these are truly against the very nature of humans.

For decades, the authority of Hitler has sort of acted as a moral watchdog in a convoluted way. But now the memory of him is waning as is the increase of depravity in society.

So athletes will be taking enhancers so long as society still has the mentality of needing to be the best despite all costs and social concerns.

Society sure likes to have a whipping boy, so that we can go on in self-satisfied smug belief that "We can never be as evil as that!!!"

So as long as society can point to something else that is worse, than our own horrific actions or lack of actions are all the more justified.

In the book "Animal Farm", the persecuted pig was called Snowball. I think there is a "Snowball's chance in hell" of creating parity in terms of money and publicity for the athlete that takes no drugs versus those who take drugs to increase their athletic performance.

there was a pig called snowball in animal farm??? I don't remember it. All I remember is that the pigs were all nasty and more Equal than the other animals.

Must be said though, our society (western, that is) is driven my money and we see that top sportspeople (top anypeople) earn copious amounts of it, so we all aspire and that is where some will go down the well tread paths of artificial/illegal aids. It would certainly solve a lot of problems if society viewed sportspeople as the scum of the earth. (not that I think that personally)

What a hilarious notion, take an athlete in their prime and have them pull those rickshaws around town.

I'd settle for complete honesty in what supplements athletes have taken, and then create two divisions for all competitions, the drug free and the drug enhanced.

Right now, the druggie athletes are taking most if not all of the fame and money.
    (in my opinion)

And in another 10 years, the druggie athlete will TAKE THE SPOTLIGHT AGAIN and cry how they were forced to take drugs to keep up with others who were taking drugs...bla, bla, bla, and now...sob, sob, sob, their health has deteriorated.....sob, sob, sob....

....then the book tour will follow.....

....and the drug-free athlete who was clean their whole life, but was never quite as successful or just barely less capable, will continue to be relegated to the back of the bus while the druggie athlete diva hogs the stage with a new chapter in their story of how their life was turned upside down by drugs.

Drugs that made them rich and successful in the first place, will then allow them back on the stage to lecture everyone else on the "unseen" ravages of the drug after they retire.

Perhaps the "unseen" aspect should refer to the poor athlete who was drug-free, never quite as good because of it, and in fact remained quite unseen by the media throughout their entire life....

But at least the drug-free athlete will have their health, but only if they are able to avoid becoming destitute from having no corporate sponsors once they retire into a life of drug-free oblivion.

A little depressing if you are the drug-free athlete. To know that no matter how hard they try they will still be second best because they do not use drugs.

So, I wonder if the "free-world" will ever regulate itself and do the right thing?

No. Probably not. Until the US runs out of everything that it wastes so effectively.
Then, when they realize that they have nothing, they will still be the same. They just do not have what they had before.

    Maybe.
