Are we all here at the same time!
Shatzy, I like your long response the best.
I think the idea of if something happens, it happens, is bunk.
When your work environment denigrates into nothing more than counting the hours until your socializing can begin with the same people...there is a problem.
Lack of integrity is one...the work environment becomes a non-factor in your life, a way to "bide your time" until your real life can begin that evening...that is an unhealthy way to go through life.
The Movie "To Sir with Love" dabbled in the concept of formality, it had a nice touch, and the process of a certain amount formality transformed the kids in a very positive way.

one of my favorite movies...
what i like most about it, in contrast to some of today's movies, is the scent of social unrest. now i'm not speaking of the unrest 'in' the movie...but 'of' the movie.
there are many implications and suggestions that just aren't fully established in that movie.
today, a similar movie would only be rivaled in true transcendence if made by...*gulp* dare i say it...spike lee.
(another movie that fits the same 'repressed expression would hafta be 'brubaker')
its another one of those that goes right up there with tron.
i mention it, today's kids never heard of it, i scoff.
you get the idea.

I was drawn into Brubaker very much...Redford could settle for impressive gains for the prisoners, (the prisoners were being horribly mistreated) but Redford would have to swallow his pride and fall short of what he really wanted to achieve...or he could go for it all, and lose ALL the gains he had already achieved for prisoners.....a conundrum of epic porportions...now if those dating within the same office put as much importance on the ethics of dating within the office as Redford did for the prisoners he warded over...the world would be a better, more responsible place.

And you wonder why you have no meaning in your life!
As any intelligent and caring woman would say about you,(at least the ones I've met) "Souless bastard", because that is what you have just expressed youself to be!

If a couple are to start a 'long term' relationship at work, the results would fare worse than one night stands as at least one night stands can basically be gotten over and work may commence. I've seen my mother's previous bosses liquidify their company and subsequently end their relationship because of work.
