Lady is the societal imprinting of the female species so that she properly breeds, shops, and cooks.

A Woman is a former lady who realizes no one set of rules or values shall bound her in perpetuity.

A Woman with class is one who chooses to embrace a set of rules to live by and holds the man or men in her life to a similar standard.

    Perhaps Lady denotes a predisposition.

You don't think womanhood is earned?

It's no different for a man. There are rites of passage.
It's just that in the civilized world you can fake it easier.

i don't see any difference between being a man and being male. i don't really believe in the notion that some people have of saying that they aren't a 'real man'.

if the person they are addressing to is a man, then they are addressing a 'real man'. people's notions of what a real man stem from is what a man 'should' or be desirous to do. it isn't a certainty that he has to do it.

    same for women.

I believe that the word "real" changes the overall discussion.

To call someone a man or a woman simply based on looks or age is suspect.

Call them a male or female, but the moniker of man or woman should be earned. Lady or gentleman is based on societal influences.

Although being a gentleman carries a higher nobility than being a lady, being a true woman carries equal or more status than being a true man.

i don't believe gentlemen have a greater nobility over ladies. i think it may be perceived as such because not too many people call men gentlemen but lots of people call women ladies out of default, not out of opinion. or maybe women have always seen to be more dainty so being a lady isn't as big an ask for women as being a gentlemen is for men.

i don't have much of an idea of what a 'true woman' is. that phrase is rarely heard. please tell me what you think a 'true woman' is.

(As I said earlier on this topic thread)

I think you pre-emptively reacted to my previous post without realizing that I was offering a leapfroging of stature between the sexes, as soon as you saw that I had listed a gentleman above a lady, you saw red, not realizing I was leaving the position of woman above all.
