My second daughter was born still at 38 weeks gestation. After having an autopsy it revealed nothing really abnormal, so our doctor told us. But after doing more research on our part we got a more detailed version of the autopsy report. It states that the maternal side of the placenta surface showed an area of about 12cm on a cotyledon area that was boggy and congested. Also on her report it talks about her organs being congested and that one of her kidneys was bigger then the other, one of her adrenal glands was bigger then the other and one of her lungs also. It sounds like to me there was an issue with the placenta/ blood flow possibly. I did have some light bleeding, a weird pain under my lung area on the left and very very hard contractions from about 30 weeks on out. Has anyone else out there experienced anything like this? Please respond. Thank you kindly, HaileesMom

    Dear Hailesmom

I did not have this experience but I just want to tell you that my heart goes out to you. I too experienced a loss in June at 22weeks so I felt I had to extend my heart to you at this time. I know your sorrow at this point especially must be so deep so please know that I understand and will be here if you just want to chat or pour your heart out to someone.

Dear sultanategirl, thank you for taking the time to send me an email and to read mine. It has been almost 5 months since we lost our daughter. I still think of her millions of times a day and miss her like crazy. My main focus right now is to find out what happened to her. I was told not to have an autopsy and then I was told the autopsy was normal and then with a little more investigation I have learned it was not normal. So I feel I am on my way to finding out what happened to my sweet baby girl. Maybe it will give me some peace and the closure that I am looking for.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am sure it has been a heart breaking experience. Why does this have to happen to sweet sweet little babies?...........HaileesMom

My sentiments exactly, I don't know why this has to happen to innocents but I guess God knows best. He is the master of the universe and I know that nothing happens that is not for the best. Like you I don't go a day without thinking what it would have been like had my baby lived but people who have been through this say that the sorrow does get better after a while so I take consolation in that too. Do whatever it takes to fully mourn your daughter so you can eventually get back to the stream of things, that is what I'm doing and I know I'm a lot better mentally and spiritually for it.

Remember in this hard time to take care of yourself physically and with time you will have the emotional strength to get back to the stream of things.

As I said you have a sister in your pain and you can chat with me or others in this situation to share the pain and memories. I wish you the very best in your search for answers and in the future which I pray will be bright for you.

    Unhappy

It still breaks my heart. I have put all of my trust in God because that is all I can do at this point in my healing. I want him to guide me to a place were I can be at peace with the situation.
I am so grateful that we do have a healthy 2 year old daughter.

Dear sultanategirl, I just wanted to let you know after much perseverance on my part I found out what happened to our baby Hailee. The cord was way too long measuring 92cm (a normal length cord should not exeed 55cm)and the cord was attached to the wrong area in the placenta. This over time wrapped around her neck just enough to keep her alive, congest her organs, and then it got to be too much and it caused her demise. We see a specialist on the 2nd and my first question is going to be how did this happen?...a freak accident in the developing of the cord and the plancenta, genetics, just the way my body works, etc.......Hopefully he can help us to decide if we want to try again. I would feel more comfortable knowing the source of it so we know our chances of success the next time around. How are you? HaileesMom

    Dear Hailesmom

I'm so sorry I haven't been logging in so I didn't see your last reply. I'm glad that at last your persistence has yeilded fruit and you have answers to your questions. I know that one of the first questions that I wanted answered when I had my miscarriage was why, that's the reason I'm glad you found answers for the immediate cause. As I said before do what it'll take to get you back on your feet again and all my good wishes go with you on your way.
