This came to me in an email so unfortunately the various incidents do not have "source" or dates. But most of the events I can personally remember from news accounts anyway so I consider them valid from that respect to post them. I don't understand how some of you can accuse Trav and myself of "racist" opinions when it comes to this issue. I think I can speak for both of us when I say our stance has been dictated to us by events, not from ANY preconceived prejudice. For your debating pleasure I present to you, The Religion of Peace in the 21st Century, or Jihad 101

*Note: All further comments below are not mine but I do agree with what is expressed:
    -----------------------------------------

Muslims fly commercial airliners into buildings in New York City. No Muslim outrage.
Muslim officials block the exit where school girls are trying to escape a burning building because their faces were exposed. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims cut off the heads of three teenaged girls on their way to school in Indonesia. A Christian school. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims murder teachers in the new Iraq for trying to teach Muslim children subjects other than memorizing the Koran.. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims murder over 80 tourists with car bombs outside cafes and hotels in Egypt. No Muslim outrage.
A Muslim attacks a missionary children's school in India. Kills six children under the age of twelve. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims slaughter hundreds of children and teachers in Beslan, Russia. Muslims shoot children in the back. No Muslim outrage.
Let's go way back. Muslims kidnap and kill athletes at the Munich Summer Olympics. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims hijack a TWA flight and to enforce their demands they shoot an unarmed U.S. sailor passenger and throw his body out on the tarmac. No outrage.
Muslims hijack a cruise ship and push a wheelchair bound elderly jewish man into the sea . No Muslin outrage.
Muslims blow up a Pan Am flight over Scotland killing hundreds. No outrage.
Muslims fire rocket-propelled grenades into schools full of children in Israel. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims murder more than 50 commuters in attacks on London subways and busses. Over 700 are injured. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims massacre dozens of innocents at a Passover Seder. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims murder innocent vacationers in Bali. No Muslim outrage.
Muslim newspapers publish anti-Christian and anti-Semitic cartoons. No Muslim outrage
Muslims are involved, on one side or the other, in almost every one of the 125+ shooting wars around the world. No Muslim outrage.
Muslims beat the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hang them from a bridge. No Muslim outrage.
Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish satirical cartoons depicting Mohammed . Muslims are outraged. Dead children. Dead tourists. Dead teachers. Dead doctors and nurses. Death, destruction and mayhem around the world at the hands of Muslims .. no Muslim outrage ... but publish a cartoon depicting Mohammed with a bomb in his turban and all hell breaks loose.

Come on, is this really about cartoons? They're rampaging and burning flags. They're looking for Europeans to kidnap. They're threatening innkeepers and generally raising holy Muslim hell not because of any outrage over a cartoon. They're outraged because it is a basic part of the Islamic jihadist culture to be outraged. If you are Muslim you don't really need a reason. You just need an excuse. Wandering around, destroying property, murdering children, firing guns into the air and feigning outrage over the slightest perceived insult is to a jihadist what tailgating is to a Steeler's fan.

I have heard again and again these bloodthirsty murderers do not represent the majority of the world's Muslims. That may be true. When though, will this vast number of "peaceful" Muslims become outraged at the behavior of the jihadists? When will they take to the streets to express their outrage at the radicals who are making their religion the object of worldwide hatred and ridicule? Islamic writer Salman Rushdie wrote of these silent Muslims in a New York Times article three years ago. "As their ancient, deeply civilized culture of love, art and philosophical ref lection is hijacked by paranoiacs, racists, liars, male supremacists, tyrants, fanatics and violence junkies, why are they not screaming?"

    Indeed. Why not?

Could it be that large numbers of peaceful Muslims are themselves too terrified of reprisals to speak up? Or could it be that the radicalization of Islamic culture is so far along that the silent Muslim majority secretly agrees with the jihadists but is unwilling to say so in public?

Want Outrage? How About Messages Like This That Try To Go Peacefully?

Viewers of cable TV stations in the Tampa market last weekend may have seen a 30-second advertisement in which two American Muslims denounce violence in the name of Islam. They vow, in part, that they will "not allow our faith to be hijacked by criminals."

The ad, which aired 105 times over the weekend on CNN, the Weather Channel and other networks, was produced by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

It's part of a campaign by the nonprofit council and other Islamic groups to urge young American Muslims to reject extremism and terrorism.
It's a welcome, if overdue, development.
For a long time after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, many American Muslim leaders failed to speak out against Islamic fundamentalists who commit violence in the name of religion, according to prominent Muslims recently interviewed by New York Times reporter Laurie Goldstein.

American Muslims have been "in denial" about the attacks, said Hesham A. Hassaballa, a Chicago doctor and columnist: "A lot of people refused to believe that there are Muslims who would do that type of thing, because they can't picture it. In their minds it's just impossible that someone would do that in the name of their faith."

So what is now prompting American Muslim leaders to wage a theological battle against extremists? The July terrorist bombings of London subways and buses, the leaders told Goldstein.

With the bombings came a disturbing revelation: The suspects were home-grown British Muslims, from places like North Kensington, Notting Hill and Finsbury Park rather than Saudi Arabia or Egypt. They were the children of immigrants.

American Muslim leaders say they now fear that their young people might also succumb to radical teachings. The leaders hope to combat that.

    More?

    More? 9/11!

The following document is a compilation of condemnations of the September 11 attacks. The articles, press releases and news clippings represent a sample of worldwide Muslim condemnation of these attacks and of terrorism in general. Most of the documents contain only excerpts of these condemnations. A document containing the full text of these condemnations would be much longer.

Included in this document are a few interviews and articles written by Muslim scholars refuting Bin Laden?s theology and use of religion to justify attacks on innocent civilians. The purpose of including these articles is to show that Muslims went beyond just condemning the attacks. They also took and continue to take active steps to combat extremism and the exploitation of religion for violent political purposes.

There are many more such articles and efforts easily available on the internet, scholarly journals and newspaper archives.

CAIR statements on the events of September 11

"We condemn in the strongest terms possible what are apparently vicious and cowardly acts of terrorism against innocent civilians. We join with all Americans in calling for the swift apprehension and punishment of the perpetrators. No cause could ever be assisted by such immoral acts.

"All members of the Muslim community are asked to offer whatever help they can to the victims and their families. Muslim medical professionals should go to the scenes of the attacks to offer aid and comfort to the victims.

September 11 statement by the CAIR

"We at the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), along with the entire American Muslim community are deeply saddened by the massive loss of life resulting from the tragic events of September 11. American Muslims utterly condemn the vicious and cowardly acts of terrorism against innocent civilians. We join with all American in calling for the swift apprehension and punishment of the perpetrators. No political cause could ever be assisted by such immoral acts."

CAIR full page add, Washington Post, September 16.

"American Muslims, who unequivocally condemned today terrorist attacks on our nation, call on you to alert fellow citizens to the fact that now is a time for all of us to stand together in the face of this heinous crime."

September 11 letter to President Bush, signed by the leaders of the American Muslim Alliance, the American Muslim Council, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the Muslim American Society, the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Circle of North America, and the Muslim Alliance in North America. These groups represent most of the seven million Muslims in the United States.

We are no less American than we were on Sept. 10. I was born in the United States. I took my first steps on this soil. I have been a ball boy for the Chicago Bulls. I have been to four U2 concerts. I am a second-year law student specializing in international human rights. I and my 7 million Muslim brothers and sisters are contributing members of American society.

Two members of President Bush's Cabinet are of Arab descent. It was a Muslim who was the architect for the Sears Tower. Islam is the fastest growing religion in America and in the world. We are doctors, lawyers, engineers, mechanics, teachers, and store owners.

    We are your neighbors.

CAIR: Video shows Bin Laden's complicity in 9-11 attacks

    (Washington, DC, 12/13/2001)

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Washington-based Islamic advocacy group, today offered its reaction to the videotape of Osama bin Laden released by the Pentagon.

    CAIR stated:

For anyone who was not convinced of Osama bin Laden's complicity in the events of September 11, the content of this videotape should remove all doubt. Bin Laden clearly spoke as someone who had foreknowledge of the attacks.

The tape was particularly disturbing for several reasons:

    1. Bin Laden seemed to revel in the death and destruction in Washington and New York.

    2. He falsely implied that the acts of the hijackers were justified by Islamic beliefs.

    3. He made the sickening statement that the attacks "benefited Islam greatly."

As we have stated repeatedly, the tragedy that occurred on September 11 cannot be justified by any cause or religion. We restate our condemnation of those who committed this crime and look forward to seeing the perpetrators brought to justice.

    More? Condemnation of Suicide Bombing

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/28/2002) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Washington-based Islamic advocacy group, today condemned a bomb attack on a Passover celebration in the Middle East that left 20 people dead and more than 100 wounded.

    In a statement, CAIR said:

"We condemn this attack and all other attacks on innocent civilians. Illegitimate and counterproductive tactics must not be used in the legitimate struggle to end Israel's brutal occupation.

"This attack is of particular concern coming as it did during a religious observance in which the focus is remembrance of God.

More? Good! Something Not About Cartoons

ICNA Stands in solidarity with attacked Baptist Churches:
    2/16/2006

The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), a grassroots organization of American Muslims, has strongly condemned the senseless arson attacks on ten Baptist churches in Alabama, five of which were burnt to the ground.

We stand in solidarity with these ten communities, all of which have unjustly been subject to the damage to or loss of their houses of worship. This event has left many horrified. We implore the authorities to work vigilantly till the wrong doers are apprehended. We also call people of all faiths to extend their moral support to the communities which are victims of this tragedy. Islamic teachings emphasize having respect for places of worship.

More? Thought So, Here Is One About Jill Carroll

The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), a grassroots organization of American Muslims, has strongly condemned the wrongful abduction of American Journalist Ms. Jill Carroll of Christian Science Monitor and has called for her Immediate Release. ICNA-Houston President Hanif Harris joined Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) and Houston Muslim Community Muslim Leadership in a Press Conference to fervently denounce this act of kidnapping of a journalist.

A recent report said that 28 years old Jill Carroll, recently helped in the backyard of her Iraqi friends prepare the traditional Eid-AL-Adha meal. She proficiently speaks Arabic and has been reporting from Iraq since April 2003. She was going to interview Dr. Adnan AL-Dulaimi, head of the Iraqi Accordance Front Party, when on January 07, 2006, Ms. Carroll was abducted in Baghdad near Dr. Dulaimi's office.

In a video delivered to and broadcasted on AL-Jazeera, Ms. Carroll's kidnappers said that they would kill her unless US military authorities free all Iraqi women in their confinement. The cassette showed her conversing, although AL-Jazeera did not transmit the expressions. She looked weary, although not unhealthy. Though no group has clearly asserted that they did this seizure, a motionless snapshot taken from the video showed the term: "Brigade of Revenge."

In a statement issued out of their Jamaica Queens New York Headquarters, ICNA stated:

"All the members of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) join the Muslim Communities nationwide in condemning the wrongful abduction of American Journalist Jill Carroll. Even in a state of war, as per a famous saying of Messenger Mohammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him), Islam does not allow the killing and forceful abduction of women, children, elderly and non-combatants.

In no uncertain terms, ICNA strongly urges the kidnappers of American Journalist Jill Carroll to immediately release her, so that the highest principles of Islam and free journalism could be upheld.

ICNA further appeals to the Government of USA that they should use maximum influence to bring out all the innocent abductees worldwide out of their forced imprisonment.

ICNA stands with Ms. Carroll's family and colleagues at the Christian Science Monitor at this time of extreme anguish and pray for her safe return home.

More? Let's Discuss The Londing Bombing You Made Mention Of?

(New York, 7/7/2005) - The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is shocked and horrified at the several attacks on the people of London during the rush hour mass transit. We join everyone in condemning such acts of terror and senseless violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones at this tragic moment. We trust that the authorities will determine those responsible for these barbaric acts and bring them to justice quickly.

Islam holds the sanctity of human life at the highest regard, and shedding the blood of innocent people is considered most heinous crime. As Muslims we condemn the killing of innocent people for any reason. This is an attack on all of us, and all communities of faith need to stand together in calm and resolute purpose against terrorism, hatred and extremism. We urge the people of England to remain calm. As citizens we also hope innocent people will not be targeted in backlash following this terror attack. Learning from experience after 9/11, we also express the profound hope that civil liberties will not be a further casualty of this tragic event, in the Great Britain or around the world.

Here in the US, we urge Muslims to remain cautious and in communication while continuing their daily work, to avoid fear and confusion and remain measured in response, and above all, to put our trust in the Mercy of Allah, All-Mighty, which will sustain us during the coming days, Insha Allah.

More? How About The Murder Of Childred You Were Talking About?

ICNA offers its condolences to the Russian people for the tragic and horrific events, and in particular to the families of the afflicted. The abduction of innocent children is a terrorist act that is not permitted by Islam. Those who commit acts of terror, murder and cruelty in the name of Islam are not only destroying innocent lives, but are also betraying the values of the faith they claim to represent.

Take not life, which God hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.?
