If you are proud of what you are marching for, why would you cover your face like that!??!??!?!??!
Are they ashamed, did they come all that way to hide from those who may disagree with them?!!??!
You would think they would want to be seen as being proud of what they are doing.

You know, the sad thing about all this for me is, I'm actually more in agreement with their point of view as respects the fighting in Iraq. I was against it from the beginning, I'm against it now, and I hate to pick up the paper and read about troops dying. Yes I know it happens in war, I just don't think they should be there in the first place. I'm not of the "Impeach Bush" crowd or any of that crap, I just don't like us over in Iraq.
That said....
Had I been there that day, I would had to have hung with the Eagle crowd because, while both sides believe in their cause, at least the Eagles have a sense of pride and respect. You look at the pictures of the protesters, so many of them (especially the young punks) really do look like the only mineral-deficiency in their daily diet is iron, and this could be rectified by taking them around back and giving them a booster shot.
Gae said that one of the young-uns uttered the term "baby killer" (apparently towards Vietnam vets). Now, if that happens, what you should do, is go over to the young man and engage in a meaningful conversation with him. First, take out a map, and see if he can locate Vietnam on it. Second, give him a short quiz and see if he can tell you anything about the following: Dien Bien Phu, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Saigon, Tet, containment, Gulf of Tonkin, B-52s, Cambodia, etc. And he doesn't have to know all of them, of course, but hopefully he can at least score something. And if he can, then you either engage in meaningful debate, or just leave.
And if he can't, then you take him around back and show him what it would be like to be an extra on the set of "300"....
