The timing of the announcement is rather suspicious however given all the news lately, the republicans dont have much of a chance.

I think the idea would be that it would show progress in Iraq. We are punishing the bad guy. This war was worth it. Stick with us.
I don't know that it will effect the election. I don't think anyone thought that this would end any differently.
I weep no tears for him either. I wasn't pro war, but he certainly deserves to burn slowly and evenly forever.
Exactly OneLove. People will feel like this is why we were right to go into Iraq and look how happy the people are.
I can't prove it (Because I don't know where I read it) but supposedly Iraq bowed to US pressure and scheduled Hussein?s guilty verdict to to be announced right before our midterm elections.
