Best Wishes!
Guys, the 2007-08 High School season starts this week for all of you. I want to wish you the best of luck with your High School teams. Remember to "show each other some love" either before or after games in which any of you face another!
You're now representing the CDBA while wearing your school's colors! So, remember to always "go hard", respect the game and all components of the game.
Remember, it's not where you start, but where you finish..... If you're not a starter now, be in the starting line-up in February. Strive to be an All-League performer, All-State, etc;.
Those of you on Frosh or JV teams, shoot for the next level up during the season.
GRADES, GRADES, GRADES!
It's important to maintain the highest grades possible during the season. It'd be a bad feeling for you to have to miss a game(or season) due to poor grades. Take your books with you on those mid-week road trips.
Pre-Season Rankings
(Teams that have Camp Darryl players only)
1) Kalamazoo Central(Robert Brooks, Andrew Laur)-Paeton Caldwell/Frosh team
-The time is now for this squad! Most Talent of any team in two area codes(269 & 616)
2) Holt(Joe Powers, Zach Kramer, Rashawn Molden)
-If the other 12 guys have as much heart as the three mentioned above, look out Capital Area!
Did You Know: Joe Powers was on Class 'A' State Championship Holt team as a Freshman.
3) St. Joseph(Burnell "BG" Granderson, Matt Jewell)
-Looking for fourth straight trip to Regionals. Will Football success carry over?
4) Mattawan(Jim "Senator" Goetz, Zach Fish, Mike 'Mac' McIntyre, Josh Holman, Skyler Laplante)- John Srodulski, Zach Trillet, Charley Young/JV; Brad Congdon/Frosh
-'Senator' Goetz will be overworked in backcourt. If front line can produce, it'll take pressure off of Goetz.
FYI: DON'T take the 'Las Vegas Monkey' to any games!!
4) East Lansing(Charlie Woods, Tom Cawood, Andrew Jackson, Eric Smith)
-Coach Fleming was CAAC-1 'Coach of the year' last season. Lost starting guards, but new guards are better. Three guys mentioned aboved won't ever quit!
Only a top five for now. Those of you not mentioned will have to drop 40 on someone this week(Sean!!!).
-Darryl

*Due to games being played virtually everyday of the week now, I'm going to post the date of the games and not the game number.

BLAKE JONES(Caledonia)- 22pts, 6rb, 6ast
ISAIAH BOSMA(Three Rivers)- 10pts, 7rb

*Giant Killer!:
JEFF HOSKINS and the Loy Norrix Knights upset CDBA #1 Kalamazoo Central(Maroon Giants), 72-69! Those in attendance said that JEFF was giving 1st team All-Stater Corey Person "the business", and on one move JEFF crossed over Person and had him looking like a "pretzel".
I'll be attending the Holt @ Okemos game on December 14. This will be this season's first HS game with a story. Look for a post on this game on December 15.
Holt:
JOE POWERS
RASHAWN MOLDEN
ZACH KRAMER
Okemos:
TRAVIS BADER
KAI GOLDYNIA
Matt Morgan

**FRESHMEN & JV players:
If you don't call or text results/stats to Darryl, we won't know what/how you've done. There are a lot of people who care to know how you are performing.
The Varsity guys are doing a great job of this and on game nights we have a ball texting each other from all regions of the state.
Thanks to Andrew Maxey & Kyle Stewart for sending information on a constant basis.

1) HOLT
Big win over Okemos last week. The CAAC-1 is no joke! At #2 East Lansing this week.

Lost at the buzzer to Jackson. Tough schedule, tough conference/CAAC-1. Hosts #1 Holt this week.
-TOM CAWOOD, CHARLIE WOODS, ANDREW JACKSON, ERIC SMITH
3) ST. JOSEPH
Style may put you to sleep, but they're very effective playing this way.
-BURNELL GRANDERSON, MATT JEWELL

Brad Redford just may beat out Draymond Green for Mr. Basketball. Meaning he's the state's best!
-TYLER GRAY
5) FOWLERVILLE
All 5 starters are back from 06-07 quarter-final team. Point Guard & Romsek are 4 year Varsity starters.
-SEAN ROMSEK
