Hey all,

I was at an Estate sale on Sunday and in one of the rooms was a Dwyer Stove, refrigerator, sink unit. It was so cool. Had the original sales receipt for 1955 and cost $485.00. After you were done with your cooking and washing dishes the top folded down.

Does anyone know anything about this vintage appliance. I tried to google but couldn't find any info. Dwyer manufactured out of MI.

I left my name and number in case they decided to sell.

I have (for now) a vintage Dwyer kitchen unit. It's a fridge, 2-burner range, and sink. White enamel with black trim. Adorable.

I bought it off Ebay from Detroit for a whopping $100. Had it moved here for free by a couple of country Michigan guys who stayed in our little guest room for a week and enjoyed Orlando. We installed the unit in the guest suite, turning it into a little guest apartment.

Our house is for sale, and I've left instructions with our realtor to tell the buyers (when we get one) that we want to keep the stove unit if they don't want it. I'd drive back to Florida to pick it up and move it back in a heartbeat.

Dwyer's still making mini kitchens, by the way. They are pricey. I called the company to ask about mine, and they knew nothing about their older products-- not the least bit interested in helping me learn about it. Couldn't find anything on the internet, either.

This reminds me of a similar 'kitchenette' that has been posted on Craigslist in my area for some time:

No one seems to want it as it has been up there for weeks. It looks interesting--efficient in a mid-century way--but very "compact," if you know what I mean!

Wow, this looks like a later model. The one I saw had a large back almost like a model B stove that folded down after you were done.

Thanks for posting that info. Now I can get an idea of what they go for.

That Kitchen Armoire thing is very cool. I can't believe someone hasn't snapped it up.

I think most people just don't know these mini-kitchens exist. My husband wants ours back for the basement of our next house-- ie "man-cave beer fridge" with stovetop for trying to MAKE beer as well. If we'd known we were moving this soon, we'd never have hardwired it into the wall.

i know what your saying about adding things to your house.. iam in the middle of redoing our basement also adding a kitchen. i know were going to move sometime.. when im not sure but i feel like i dont want to do all this work if i dont get it all back you know.. i just keep telling my self if the new owners dont want the stove im taking it.
hey them mini kitchen are really cool. ive never seen one before. its a little small for me but really cool.. i bet it great for the man cave...

I put an ad in the local Greensheet for a mangle. The only response I got was from a gentleman that wanted to sell a Speed Queen. He had bought it in the 50's for his mom and she never used it. It still had the plastic imprinted with the Speed Queen logo wrapped around the bolster. I bought it on the spot. While there I saw an antique GE monitor top refrigerator. I asked if it was for sale and he said yes. This machine looks like it could have come right off the show room floor. Not a scratch or mar or any discoloration to the enamel. All parts are there. It runs and cools just fine. Is $150.00 too high a price to pay for this appliance? If it should break down are parts available? What about the coolant; is it still leagel to run units with these old gasses? Can anyone direct me to a source for information about old GE refrigerators? I've done some web searches and haven't had too much luck. Thanks for any help here. I'm amazed by the pristine condition of this refrigerator. It looks newer than the Kennmore I bought at the Sears scratch and dent outlet just a few years ago. Thanks again for any help.........Tom Radovic (model 11 BZ)
