One of the things that was messed up was the mechanism that raised and lowered the broiler. To fix it, my husband machined a pin for it. It appeared to work great. In fact, I was using the dog out of it, when suddenly the entire "arm" slipped out and dropped the broiler on top of the meat cooking on the sizzle platter below.
Problematic, to say the least. Any ideas? Do you think it's the new pin, or something else? It appeared that raising and lowering it, in time, pushed the mechanism out of proper position. Something I should simply check before I begin broiling, or is there a more "permanent" fix?
Thanks, Chambers Guru(s)

If your husband made a pin and installed it for
you he will be able to tell if that was the problem
and or something else. A grate many of the chambers pins are "tapered" and they hold really
well. But they will only fit in one way and they
are usually positioned that they tighten with use.
No guru just struggling along one day at a time
like everyone else.
